If we are playing on the front foot which we are hoping this season then he could be a nice overlapping fullback. We do know the best attribute in his locker is being able to cross from open play, he puts some beauties in there even if strangely his dead ball ones are usually hopeless. Defensively the onus will be on Heneghan and Hall to be talking to him a lot so as he at least is in the right position when defending our box.

Let’s hope so because it looks like he’s gonna be our starter at right back for the first few games at least. Personally I think he’s nowhere near good enough defensively, doesn’t read the game well at all & far too much ball watching. As much as I’d rather not see him at right back he will have my support once the game kicks off tomorrow & i really hope he can prove us doubters wrong 💪🏻

The facts based on last season are that he is that bad at RWB. Nobody is making anything out, he isn’t a defender and loses his man more often than not. I rate him, I think he’s a decent player but shouldn’t be near that position.

Hmmm. If he had a score of defensive ability it would probably be between a 2 to 4.

id give him an 8 for crossing from open play, and 3 for defensive positioning and tackling ability

oh and a 9 for head band trendiness 😍😍😍

What swayed you from giving a 10 for the headband Hoppers ?

I also agree that Sang shouldn’t play at right back because it’s not his best position.

But, given has been selected as this years sacrifice, what is about to unfold is him being held to a far higher expected standard than anyone else on the team.

Anything short of perfection will be jumped up and down on whilst other players get away with it.

Certain members of the crowd, emboldened by the online slamming of the lad, will start to vocalise it in the stands.

That will descend into booing which will lead to Sangs relationship with the crowd and fans deteriorating beyond repair.

Alas, imagine a world where we acknowledge he is playing out of position and give him some extra support to boost his confidence… but that’s just not football!

Hopefully we get a new RB in soon… but I guarantee you we will just turn on someone else.

I agree some do take it down a very negative hole, but if something is wrong it needs to be made clear, that's just reality. The alternative is to just be delusional, the club cant operate on delusion.

I cant see sang having another contract with us anyway personally. Its like some of the fanbase are that soft you cant point out obvious stuff or they will cry.

Sang isn't a right back and can't defend but in fairness the second Bolton goal wasn't his fault, he did his bit well in getting back and would of cleared it had it not been for Ripley but I would be tempted to go James Plant there, he did well enough at Left Wing Back and naturally he is right sided isn't he so a better option? Otherwise if playing a flat back four surely a centre half is a better option there who can do the basics of defending, we've played Smith there before when needed, and Debrah has played right back before so why would you not use one of them two if available?
