Maybe a loan? It's what we did with the likes of Covolan and (further back) Kaid Mohamed when they were surplus to requirements.

A loan may suit all parties:

• it gives a player who has little chance of gametime at Vale a chance to play
• A loan may be more attractive to clubs especially if they negotiate to only pay a portion of the wages. They also aren't tied in to a lengthy contract with the player just the loan period
• Even if Vale are still paying a portion of the wage, it still lowers the wagebill, allows Vale to trim their squadlist and to farm someone out till their contract expires and they can be released

I guess with loans it may be something clubs turn to towards the end of the window when other deals haven't happened so I guess there's still time for a few of the "unwanted" to go out in the latter stages.

Cambridge paid for Loft and thought he was that good they wanted him for 3 years!! Stranger things have happened.

Grant & Jones look destined to leave for me. If we can move them on without cost freeing up squad space and budget it’s a good deal.

I would be surprised if a lower L1 club like Shrewsbury wouldn’t take Grant and Jones would be a decent signing for most L2 clubs.

Just my personal preference but I see why some would start Stockley etc 

I agree mate with the formation at home. I think that’s how we will start games which can easily move to 3 at the back if chasing games which is why I think another winger is needed. 

I am struggling with personnel though. I’m happy enough with my back 5 but that midfield and attack is a nice headache. Also If Ojo has bought into Moore then he should be screening the back 4 with Byers as the playmaker but then you have to change formation to get Garrity up the pitch.

If true VFIA will have to go and support another team. 

I think DM will have to show his man management by keeping players happy when fit and not being selected. I’m referring only to the players that he has brought into the club. I’d expect him to bring in at least two more signings and at least one possibly two young loan players. What to do with those who were here last season,I think they’ll be sent on loan. In relation to Ripley, I think we may sell him and bring in a younger keeper to replace him as a second choice, playing in the Papa Johns Trophy.

Agreed mate it’s wise to have the two holding away from home & Stockley as the target man. Be nice to see us with two up front & giving it a good go at home

Nothing on the Cambridge forum specifically but some recent chatter about bringing defenders in so they do appear to be looking to strengthen that area of the squad.
