The 10 year old we sold to Man City, Joel N’dala, has now scored 16 in 31 from the wing for them, plus 7 assists. Turned 18 in May.

LW/RW. Any chance we could get him back on a season long loan?

Guardiola brought him on in a friendly against Celtic last night but the team (and mass subs) were mostly kids by the looks of it.

I hope we have a large sell on inserted in his deal,he has starred in all tournaments he has played in and has been looked at by a lot of clubs abroad

Hence me asking if there's any chance if we could, given we sold him to them (and hopefully have a big sell on clause waiting...)

Imagine this ball control against a load of lumbering L2 oafs, it'd be hilarious.

It would be nice but no way will he be playing around the lower leagues mate

On the subject of Smith surely he must be close to a Testimonial soon isn't he?

There's a fixed tariff for players under 18 through the Elite Player Performance Plan.

Ndala left when he was 10, which under that fixed tariff would only have netted us £6,000 (£3,000 for every year at the academy over the age of 9).

The tariffs have since been updated and the same transfer today would probably net us around £12,500-15,000

We would then get payments based upon professional appearances:

What I don't know is whether clubs can negotiate outside of this fixed tariff system - but I'm not sure why City would do that as they could effectively secure Ndala for £6,000 and maybe a million down the road.

The end of next season (25/26).

So what about Michael Mills & Freddie Lawrie then? Freddie reported to be a record breaking transfer fee at the time & sources saying around 200k Newcastle paid for Mills. Both 14 & 15 I think when they left

Is that cumulative? So 100 Prem appearences would hypothetically cumulatively net us 7.75m?

The FSA describe those kinds of fees as cumulative.

No idea. Just know the EPPP has shaped how Category 1 academies can buy players from Category 3 academies, but maybe you can do negotiations outside of that to avoid the appearance-based clauses.

Ah, from that article posted by Doha it appears the tariff comes into play if an agreement can't be reached - so we may have reached agreements with City, Villa, and Newcastle beforehand.

My understanding is under 16s sign 12 month contracts. The tariffs apply over the summer when the players are then out of contract. So it a player leave August - May clubs need to agree a fee. Most of the higher profile departures have happened during the season. It still gives the buying club a lot of power.

Not sure if it's been mentioned but I see DC has taken Dean Whitehead into his backroom team at barnsley

I can't see there being any sausages today unless we have a surprise departure

I smell sausage 👀

Heneghan is very similar to Smith, only better, in my opinion. So I could see Smith departing. If we're playing four at the back, Heneghan and Hall would be my centre-back pairing.

GK: Amos/Ripley

RB: Clark

CB: Heneghan/Smith

CB: Hall

LB: Hart

CDM: Croasdale/Ojo

CM: Byers

CM: Garrity

FW: Curtis

FW: Tolaj/Chislett

ST: Stockley/Paton

That's some team. Albeit not the quickest.
