Don't get the love in with Clark TBH. He's got just as much of an injury record as Wilson and Jones - don't see why he should be exempt.

Played 49 last season for Accrington. 12 for us this time.

Bit of a long shot   However Bannan is on record saying Moore is the best manager he’s played for , I’m trying to find the BBC radio Sheffield interview when he expressed it , when I do I will post it .

Wasn't he on berserk money in League one ?

No way he's dropping to League 2 at his age.

Be another Dwight Gayle scenario with people believing we have a chance.

Genuine question here, how does a manager decide what formation to play? This season DM just had to work with what he inherited, but next season, Is DM looking at what he has and finding a formation to best fit or picking a strategy first up then seeing what players can fit in where, then the recruitment of the rest begins. Or do we just look for 22 players that can play in a few places then chop and change depending on opposition?

I'm with Phil Sproson on this point. When you play half your games on such a big pitch as Vale Park then playing 3 players at the back is a risky business and you have to have the "perfect" players to play that system. You can perhaps get away with it in Lge 2 as the players are not as skillful but in Lge 1 and above it's too easy for opposition skillful players to exploit the space down the wings.

I hope Vale play a 4-3-3 or some version of it next season, two big central defenders with a ball winning midfielder in front of them, two attacking full backs, two skillful outside midfield players and up front, one or two strikers together with a fast winger.

4-3-3 When attacking which could morph into 4-5-1 without the ball.

In effect John Askey's formation and tactics.

Thanks. Give. The width of the pitch I’m with you here.

Rumoured to be on 24k when they were in League One

Barry Bannan? No chance. He likes and is used to money. There are a great number of players who will have played for Moore who are decent, but that’s because he managed clubs with greater resources, not because they have a love or desire to play for Moore.

With Carol, you won’t get more, you’ll get less. A lot less. I doubt Moore can work with less

I do really like the 2 or 3 weeks after the season finishes when clubs are announcing retained lists, that's when we start to say who we would like take from other clubs and then some moan saying they are cast offs etc...... love it

IF we do try to somehow get rid of Loft then why not take a punt on a national league striker to replace him with.. the likes of Tolaj and Aldershot or Cardwell at Southend to go along with an experienced League striker

National league striker? Not those hopeless prospects again. Ricky Miller was meant to be a non league powerhouse and was crap for us. Non league players are non league for a reason.

You do get the odd one who are more than capable jumping up a level or two but it can be quite risky. All comes down to decent scouting I suppose

We went for some experience last time in the likes of Lowe & Grant. Just half decent ones will do who are gonna play for the badge. Nobody had ever heard of Garrity & he was a part time player & an engineer not so long ago & he’s turned out a great player for us. Experience isn’t always the answer
