National league striker? Not those hopeless prospects again. Ricky Miller was meant to be a non league powerhouse and was crap for us. Non league players are non league for a reason.

Yes, the signing of one player around 8 years ago who had a litany of personal problems means we should write off any players at the same level in 2024.

I’m sure Posh adopt the same approach with Mason-Clark and Edwards.

Tolaj would be an absolutely outstanding signing - as anyone who has watched him can attest to

I think folk get too caught up in demanding a certain ‘type’ of signing.

Experience. Proven. Winners. Tough men.

Just sign good players. Restricting ourselves by chasing niche profiles arbitrarily selected by Flitcroft is what for us into this mess.

If a player is good and experienced, sign him. If he’s good and young, sign him. Sign good footballers who make us better imo, not to fit a narrative about ‘who we are’.

A good resource for looking at players who we have no clue about, I certainly don’t when I see most names mentioned on here, is an app called FOTMOB. It gives you rating for players based on their contributions during a game. Well worth checking out because it gives their career stats and previous game stats too.

You do get the odd one who are more than capable jumping up a level or two but it can be quite risky. All comes down to decent scouting I suppose

Andy Jones came from Rhyl… !

If that's Football league world it's just speculative journalism.

However I'd be amazed if he doesn't attract interest. Had a few critics on here but his stats are impressive in an appalling team.

Of course, his stats will appear on all the recruiting processors, no hidden players anymore.

Mason-Clarke started his career at Barnet in league 2 and did very well before Posh signed him.

Edwards was also of Barnet.

Peterborough have a very very close working relationship with Barnet and their academy so know their best prospects very well before signing. It is not an accident so many of their gems come from there.

Tolaj at 22 years of age (not a youngster) has has played 15 games in the football league in loan spells and has scored…0 football league goals.

To give sense of perspective, Ryan Loft, currently 26, had scored 4 football league goals at 22. From 30 football league appearances.

Wrexham revenue £10.6M last season, that is why they can spend so much on players. What chance do we have?

Wrexham are only 1 side in a league. I’m sure we can compete with others

They'll be in League One next season so we don't have to worry about them.

Their documentary is such a sneaky revenue generator.

I'm sure I read it makes around £400k an episode.

Spend is based on revenue, that is my point.

Anyway, who's up for a Clarke-Harris and Bannan masterclass next season then?

That’s so wide of the mark you clearly don’t know much about National Leagues.

I’d prefer Micheal Smith on the end of crosses from Jack Shorrock and James Plant.

I’m very hopeful as a Vale fan I never have to be.
