Interesting comment from Darrel Clarke on today's BBC website.

"The budget has got to be used in good areas, and not always on the playing squad, but improving the infrastructure that helps us to continue to improve as a football club."

I wonder how our infrastructure compares with that of Cheltenham's

As Smurthwaite said "football is a village" maybe our DOFs reputation discourages players from signing.

Who's the village idiot?

Maybe if Flitcroft hadn't decided back in the summer that he'd found a cheat mode for squad building, didn't need to bother with buying a striker and could depend on goals from midfield instead, he wouldn't have had to approach (and get turned down by) 174 players this January.

We had a very decent bid for a player accepted.  Money is not the factor for failure this January.

It really was. We might pay a transfer fee but we will not pay the required wage for a striker in league one.

Under Bratty we'd have had a great transfer window

On the Undr The Cosh podcast, i am yet to hear a positive comment from any player about Flitcroft.

Word gets around.

Players who've been at Vale have said they like him. Darrell Clarke said last week he still gets on with him. Carol says good things about him

It's not all bad. We've just lost a few.

I think Craig Davies said he was alright?

So you seem to know all about it, why was money not the issue and what was the problem?

In the article Clarke  days the training pitches are not fit for purpose, where have we heard that before.  Can't comment on the on a comparison of the rest of the Vale/Cheltenham facilities.

Point I'm making Wrex is that some fans (Not you) are having a pop at Carol and the club for spending money on things other than the team yet the manager many fans consider a "God" is saying exactly the same.

But have balanced it with investment to strengthen the team, as evidenced with their recent form, which has seem them overtake us in the league.

That was on Monday,

Said he was useless by Sunday.
