The worst thing for me is could not be bothered to watch on I-Follow or listen on radio and when I saw that we were 2 nil down did not feel anything, I should be feeling anger, hate losing but all the fight for the club has gone from me at this moment in time.  I resigned myself to going down the moment the transfer window shut, that was when I knew we had given up.

The worry for me is this squad is going to be fighting in league 2 for survival, from this bunch of wasters, I would only keep Ripley, Debrah, Plant, Chislett Ojo and Garrity, beyond that I am struggling and there is no way Chissy or Garrity are staying.

Same here, was just about to post exactly the same..  just cba to watch it, too depressing/upsetting

I'm looking forward to it. We don't belong at this level until we have someone who can properly invest in the club. I mean on the pitch where it really matters.

Sometimes you have to take one step back before you can start moving forward again so just accept that we're going back to where we currently belong and look forward to an entire new rebuild throughout the club, hopefully.

We do belong at this level with the attendances (up until Christmas) and the levels of investment in the club.

Sadly, someone somewhere has wasted a lot of money on things that don't matter to the proper supporters of the club or, indeed, any League 1 club.

For example, there was a player interview on Radio Sjoke tonight (possibly CR) and he was talking about how the club Scientists and Dieticians would now come into their own for the final run-in, as they will tell the players what to eat and how to rest! 🙉

The corporate facilities are very good, but the proper fans have to piss in a portaloo!

Not sure on Weir there, I haven't seen him positively influence any game really, looks like a bit of a passenger.

Can see in his recent performances why he struggled to get game time elsewhere.

I can't put my finger on whether it's a positional thing, or that he's just too lightweight but even Walters feels like a better option based on the last month or so

He didn't - only at Blackpool, which is why we pulled the plug on his loan there. 43 games (and not late cameo appearances either!) in League 1 for Morecambe last year (10 goals from midfield), and a successful spell at Cambridge the season before until it was cut short by injury.

He was crap. He’s there as a striker on 3k a week plus.

I can run still at 43. Doesn’t mean I should be a Port Vale number 9.

His miss from the Chislett cross was unforgivable.

If you want someone who can run I’d suggest go to Northwood stadium.

Come on. It’s not hard to see he’s absolutely utter garbage, robbing a living and isn’t the answer to get us goals with 15 games to go.

We all know ability wise he’s not good enough. But who else do we play 😂 we don’t have any other options, James Wilson isn’t good enough either & Baylee dipepa! And big Uche, none of them are good enough they haven’t scored more than 5 goals between them all season. It’s atrocious, I said beginning of the season our strike force won’t bag 10 between them all season. I didn’t actually think it would happen! I knew they wouldn’t score many but 5 between the 4 of them is pathetic. If loft didn’t play Wilson would have & he doesn’t score enough goals even if he is more talented. Only other option is garrity up top but he didn’t even look fit he looks way off still after his injury. What a mess mate

I liked the back four, i liked the concept and it worked for the long period.

Off went Jones, on come Grant and then the floodgates opened down the right.

I feared Lowe would struggle with the pace and athleticism of their midfield, once Savage came on he was always going to struggle with the second balls.

I can't really blame Darren Moore for tonight, he just simply hasn't got enough depth and flexibility in that squad and that is not his fault.

Can we get a left back and a striker in before saturday?

Back four yes, Sang and Jones absolutely not. Dont start me on Grant. An embarrasement of a player.

Still remember the comments early season about what a player we have signed.

D.M. has gone for experience in the main but thats all we have. Same again saturday i believe with one extra session on grass Thursday a.m. for 90 mins to gel

There were a few, scant positives there:

  • It was a bit better than we have been recently
  • Mighten looked lively for a bit
  • Weir showed something (though still not convinced)
  • Garrity is fit again

However:

  • 3 wins in 27
  • Nothing in the final third
  • Mayhem at the back
  • Grant is an absolute fraud
  • Moore doesn't have a great track record in relegation battles

Agree bar the implication of the last comment. This isn’t Moore’s mess. He’s got to somehow cobble together a team to get results. Before he came, it was 3 wins in 25, so it’s not like he has tools at his disposal. In the absence of “the new manager bounce” which was always unlikely with our mish-mash squad, my worry is that it’s Huddersfield all over for him… a dark cloud hanging over the club which he can’t shake off to get us going, and inevitably ends with a parting of the ways. Hope I’m wrong as I did/do think he was the best pick of everyone that was mentioned.

I suppose one shining light from tonight is that the Reading win pushes them closer to safety.

Should please those with the Vale/Reading half and half scarves.

I never understood the love in with Reading, if the first game had been completed we would have had a free week this week to allow DM to get his views across.

Very simple question  ....

Are you a mard arse who is going to cry and crumble and ensure we will go down?

Or are you going to grow some and vocally support every Vale player on the pitch to get the points we need to stay up?

VTID

Your mard arse paragraph applies to the players !
