The amount of times that there was so much room between the wing back and the centre half against Pompey was a joke. They knew exactly how we were going to play and how to exploit it. To play 3 at the back, you need wing backs who can get up and down and decent ball playing centre halves who can find them, we have neither. Why we are persisting with a formation that is clearly not working with the players we have I have no idea. Go more solid with a flat back 4 and a holding midfielder. That leaves less space for the opposition to exploit.

If you look at a lot of the goals we concede, a lot of them are from balls played between the wide centre halves and wing back. It seems like a really obvious thing to sort.

This is why I think we should have gone out and brought in a more natural left and right full back to play wing backs. We could the. be more solid with them being naturally defensive. There were players moving around in league one that would have fitted the bill.

Let's give Charlie Adam some credit ok Vale were pathetic but they dealt with us easily .

If he can do that then maybe along with the likes of Barton he could be in contention for the Vale managers job .

All his players wanted it .

This is what annoyed me about Vale .

None of ours wanted it

No thanks!!! 😭😭😭

Not for his views on woman's football .

But as a,manager

A motivator

Yes I think I would

Joey Barton is an absolute clown.

I think his views on women's football are spot on though, It's a different game all together.

Women shouldn't be commentating on TV on the men's game, it's just box ticking because of the way the world has become unfortunately.

Lardinel after click bait. I'd hardly call it trolling.

Fat Charlie's penalty miss and resultant slow motion shuffle of his lard ass towards the ball against Brighton was a factor in Lards relegation.

If his stats carry on as they are he'll be back on Radio 5 in no time spouting his unbelievable knowledge with Michael Brown.

You need an Alan Partridge-style sausage barrier between the eggs and tomatoes.

Nice to see the oatcake Dalmation plate gets used for other meals 🙂

The bottom line is I expected us to go to Fleetwood and win. We have better players than they do. We lost. Summit is up at mill. Crosby.

We clearly don't have "better players" with that result!

Had time to reflect now. From the onset yesterday as I sat in the stand observing the apathy, bewilderment at the Club's inability to see what was required before the end of the transfer window, the apparent disillusion, the atmosphere as flat as a disc, I sensed then the majority of us attending were simply there in desperate hope rather than to enjoy a game against the team languishing at the bottom of the table. After 10 minutes it was clear this was going to be another abject, tactic lacking, boring debacle. As the game progressed so did the bile and warranted derision grow towards players, AC and DC. Frankly everything about the day was embarrassing to be a Valiant due to the lack of vision shown by Port Vale. I usually attempt to drum up encouragement and optimism even during some of our darker days but I actually joined in the choruses of disapproval. After 45 years of supporting my favourites I am at a very low level of patience or sympathy as to our plight. Many, many more yesterday were discussing  their options as to what to do on match days next season.  Vale are now in serious decline. Fans all know it, its being coming now for ages. Why can't the powers that be see it?  I sincerely hate posting pessimistic vibes but if I'm  feeling it, I'm  sure hundreds and hundreds more are of  a similar vein. If Vale don't recognise this and actually do something, I fear for my beloved Club.

Fantastic post that is

When Carol took over she openly admitted that she knew nothing about the footballing side and this is how i think DF got in her head...he is selling her down the river here, she has to suck it up and either say we are skint and cant afford to sack people or just get rid of him and start again with a manager that they can let manage and make his own decisions, this is all going cost her a hell of a lot more in the long run than getting rid of him.

They will struggle to replace AC if they sacked him as it stands because they would need a yes man who is happy for DF to make all the decisions.... IF money is there as some state then i would get rid of DF and AC and pay what it takes to get Duff in(plays possession football but with results apart from swansea maybe) and let him manage properly
