It fades into insignificance when compared to the £10M the owners have paid to ensure you have the opportunity to go!

Look at the prices in Germany. Reasonable and proportionate and way cheaper than the cost of football here. Interestingly, their business culture is fairer as they have good relationships with employee unions etc and their people enjoy a better quality of life

That is how capitalism works from a business perspective yes, but in many examples your analogy doesn't fit the reality of people who do struggle. If  a person can't afford a loaf of bread or food then as a desperate measure they would  have to borrow the money to get that food.

A football club is there for the community. It used to be, for example, that unemployed people used to attend on reduced rates, and football was accessible to all, instead many football clubs have unwittingly priced many people out of attending.

Whilst a football club has to be ran sensibly financially the people running it should remember that a club is a stone of the community and not a business. That is the principle that I would use.

I really do feel that the current Vale owners have priced out many fans who wish to attend. A 9% increase in pay on the day admission prices in two years is a large increase.

After attending since 1969  these  games are few and far between i will happily pay the extra £1. I'm off Norton hardly a well off area. If you cant afford to go, don't go but no need to share it as it breeds negativity in my opinion. We are lucky to have a club with owners who have put in millions, if the extra £ for a quarter final of the cup is too much then don't go it's your choice.

I can afford to go but many with young families will struggle.  Negative or not if you don't speak up then nothing will change in relation to prices. £24 isn't great value for league one

Tbf All football clubs should take into consideration we are in a cost of living crisis. £25 is a lot if you are not in a well paid job...regardless that it is a 'one off game'...and after all the wages generally in the Stoke area are well below average
I live in the South East of England, Buckinghamshire. People go on about this myth of people being on far better wages than people in the potteries. If you are a teacher, work for any of the major utilities, BT, Police Officer etc, etc the wages are the same. Some may have introduced a small South East allowance and that's it. There are people who commute into London who earn good money but the vast majority of working class people earn little more if any than people in Stoke. The only real exception would be people in the building trades.
The one big difference is the cost of putting a roof over your head. My son has just purchased his first house £300,000. That is for a bog standard 2 bed semi. So for anyone who has a mortgage I can assure you people in Stoke will have far more disposable income at the end of each month.
So I find it unreal that people are moaning because they have had 3 or 4 quid put onto the price of our biggest game in years

Really? Many people can't even afford a deposit for a mortgage!

It's a matter of perspective. Again, look at the culture in Germany, cheaper football, better football. and a better quality of life

If you want Vale to reduce prices then accept that the playing budget will be less competitive.

Sorry MBE but to beat the club over the pricing at £25 is rediculous,.

God help you if we are promoted to the championship again or heaven forbid the premiership.

To compete at a higher level  and sign better players we need to capitalise on every opportunity that comes our way.

Get behind the club stop moaning and hopefully we can go one round further.

UP THE VALE

My issue isn't just the £25 its pricing structure.

My point is that people in all parts are struggling. I just get annoyed when people in Stoke think they are worse off than other parts of the country. Yet when it comes to buying or renting a property it is far easier and cheaper to get on the housing ladder compared to other places. I do agree that wherever you are it can be difficult. But people who rent or have a mortgage in North Staffs will have more disposable income.
I just don't think the argument that the club shouldn't put prices up because of poor Stoke-on-trent holds water. Especially when it is a small increase.

Totally agree mate but clubs are charging over the odds to try and stay competitive because fans demand the club to be competitive. We've all seen the affordability of striker debates on here.

We are in a ridiculous situation where 99% of EFL clubs rely on an owner to prop up the club to keep it competitive. The EFL answer is to get more distributed from the PL TV money and increase fans ticket prices without addressing the elephant in the room.

Strong governance is a must to stop players and agents getting more and more PL/TV  money far outstripping 'real life' wages. We will continue in this endless cycle of bigger TV deals, more money from PL and increase ticket prices until strong financial reforms are agreed. Sadly we all know it won't happened because it's all about self preservation from PL,PFA and bigger EFL clubs to maintain the status quo so they can grab the money.

Sorry rant over.
