January Transfers and Rumours

We needed a striker before Uche got injured so technically 4 is right(with a LB and a CB replacement for Williams).  Like we're saying though, more chance of pushing water uphill than that happening it would seem!

Oh I agree, but i think Liverpool are as much to blame, they must have a far superior medical team with all the latest scanning equipment etc. Yet he seems to have slipped under their radar too.

Typical Scousers, always cheating never their fault.

Do do do another hour bites the dust 🎵

I don’t honestly think we are waiting to the end of the window to sign players. I think it is simply the case there won’t be any. Dan Gore was it.

I like your positivity........... you are growing on me 🙂

Not sure we need a centrehalf if Cass stays. We've got Lacovitti and Debrah who are tall. It only makes sense if there is someone better than those 2. I suspect Williams was signed so we could sell Cass. It's a bit late in the window to be replacing Cass. If it's 3 centreforward,  LWB and someone in midfield or another forward for me.

Sometimes players can pass a medical one day or week then on another given day/week could easily fail it if they have an underlying issue.  I'm sure I read about a player once who'd spent most of his career at one club but had he ever tried to sign elsewhere he'd have failed a medical, however was fit enough to play a decent amount of games every season for the club he was already at, can't for the life of me think who it was but it was someone fairly well known(i.e. premier level 90s era).

I agree with the salient point though doesn't say a lot for the numerous staff we appear to have and doing due diligence before it gets to the point of a medical.

Who was the midfielder that played for Ipswich - never missed a game but I can't remember his name either...I think that might be who you're referring to

With Williams having gone back to Liverpool for the rest of the season, does that mean we can just cancel the loan, as though it never happened? I presume we registered his signing with the FA/EFL and agreed with Liverpool to pay a certain percentage of his wages, however big/small, until the end of the season.... can we just pretend it never happened, or will the EFL hold us to the loan regardless?

I think its more likely we've found out what a tool he is.

Just less than 9 hours left

God, this is tedious.

You don't usually give a medical to players going out on loan.

For me we need 2 strikers 1 LWB and a big CB to replace Williams now and that's a minimum

Not far off I reckon, but good luck with those..................................!

no, but you'd assess him coming back from Aberdeen - he's a first team squad member at one of the worlds leading football clubs

A loan is only of any consequence from the start date to the end date. If we were making a contribution to his wages then it was from 16 January to 1 February.

However strong the relationship, if we mess up this window and we get relegated surely Carol has to sack DF? !!
