This is on Carol for not having the money to spend or not wanting to spend the money on the players we need desperately. Flitcroft is not a miracle worker and is taking the flak for the lack of funds being available from above. But she is the saviour so people wont go for her instead go at DF without realising his job is almost impossible. We need investment now or we are only heading one way under CS

It is absolutely impossible for Flitcroft to have seen him play this season. Yes, mine are facetious comments but the cold, hard facts are he has not seen this guy play and is signing him on a hope and prayer. 
 

Rudgie makes it clear in his book he never signed a player he never saw play. This is an example why.

If it wasn't and was a fluke injury or something then fair enough - but if (I'm not saying it was just if it was) it was an internal mistake there has to be appropriate measures in place as we're a professional club, we can't be carrying people if they are not up to the role.

Agree but don't think we should be hanging people out to dry either if a mistake has been made. Pretty sure the club would not want to damage the player's reputation either if indeed he was to blame in some way.

So yes all season up until signing for us. The point stands, he didn’t play a single game and was out injured throughout. Surely that should trigger some alarm bells

Sometimes players can pass a medical one day or week then on another given day/week could easily fail it if they have an underlying issue.  I'm sure I read about a player once who'd spent most of his career at one club but had he ever tried to sign elsewhere he'd have failed a medical, however was fit enough to play a decent amount of games every season for the club he was already at, can't for the life of me think who it was but it was someone fairly well known(i.e. premier level 90s era). 

I agree with the salient point though doesn't say a lot for the numerous staff we appear to have and doing due diligence before it gets to the point of a medical.

Only at Vale could we be let down by two blokes called Williams in 24 hours. One with a non existent takeover and another with non existent fitness to play.
