Dipepa and lomax look way off this level at the moment to me. Walters too. All 3 need a loan move. The only one at the moment that I think is worth having in the squad in Shorrock. Plant is good enough as well obviously. No idea on Brazier have a feeling it’s all agent talk otherwise he would have been involved with us.

Feel most sorry for Dipepa, because he's always being brought on when we're chasing a goal. So he's literally being asked to do a job he's nowhere near ready for yet.  Just goes to show how lacking our recruitment has been up top, when we have to rely on a kid who's not ready, and then spin it into 'good development'. Mental that is!

So the academy sales don’t actually generate any additional income for the club…they just self fund an academy? Seems a bit pointless if that is the case.

It may have made a £1 million loss for promotion, but that was 2 seasons ago now, without also paying off Smurfwaite. Added to that being in league 1 alone adds more than £1 million in revenue.

So yeah, I would be asking where the money is, because it certainly isn’t on the squad!

The point of the academy is to develop players to fill out your squad and hopefully develop them into 2st teamers to sell them on for good money.

There is no pot of good selling youth players not on professional terms. It’s just money to make it a self alone business .

I have no idea what you’re trying to say about paying off Smurf .Do you no think that money is not been invested to get us to this point with the pitch ?

Why is it a waste of time?? It's only if they are young lads that get snapped up whilst in the Academy system that it gets put back into the running of that,if at some point we sold Lomax for 5m then yes some would go back into the clubs running but it has already been decided by the board that squad team sales the majority will go back into the playing budget,so we can then compete for the better players with the bigger clubs

I see Pompey have signed Callum Lang from Wigan, undisclosed fee on a 2.5 year contract.

Ronan Curtis who left Portsmouth after having a bad injury signed for a League Two team last week(cant remember who),he scored a few for Portsmouth and scored on his debut on saturday having not played this season..... a gamble maybe we could of taken

Fair points, but are they moaning about "not being able to compete" too?

Have we effectively "spent our overdraft" and now we're having to scrimp and save to make up for it?

I just don't get it at the minute. Would love a deep dive into the finances.

I don’t get it either and wheeling out Robbie at the end of January with a ceremonial “ President Role” was a bit unexpected and seemed a bit of a desperate way to drum up a bit of positive news.

Maybe they're hoping that by associating Robbie closer with the club, they can bring in bigger sponsorships like AFC Hollywood have done?

I hope that is a plan. I can’t blame the club for wanting that. Only time will tell. Trouble is, it will mean Robbie will have to be on board more than he has been and 30 years of him being our star fan has amounted to not really that much in the past.

As I interpreted it, Robbie seemed to state in his interview with our media team the reason he has not attempted to get involved before was because a certain type of character, that he didn't want to associate with, became Football Club Directors.

However, now Carol has ownership he is happy to get more involved.

Perhaps, those being critical of Carol and wanting her to sell up might like to take Rob's comments on board.

It seems to be done to take some pressure off the side not producing the goods at the moment, fans getting restless/complaining about that and the lack of better players coming into the club.  But next transfer window we will be getting foreign strikers - hasn't that been tried before and it didn't work and we were only in the 2nd Div at the time.

Look everyone we have another President at the Club.  See all the problems have gone away and its rosy down at Vale Park.  Thought it was Sir Rudge in that role.  Nope we can now have 2.

Sorry but 2 days to go and no rumours of anyone coming in.  Another rubbish transfer window where we have got worse rather than better.  Next season will be in Div 2.

But hay we are a great community club, great score board and have 2 Presidents at the club now.  And a big plus, the pitch seems to have held up and is a lot better.  Shame the players are looking rubbish on the pitch and can't play the way Flickers and Co are telling them to play.

Wers, at least it’s an old injury, unlike ourselves who have the expertise of signing players that are injured, we seem to have cornered that part of the market. I don’t suppose it easy to do, what we do, otherwise they’d all be signing injured players.

I pay my money to watch football all I ask is they give there all out on the pitch some players are not doing that so don’t tell me how to spend my money

Spend your money how you like but don’t bleat about the club not investing and then not invest your own money into the club.  Anyway, if you really are a season ticket holder of 55 years you’ve seen it all before so why go soft now?  Attention seeking?
