Micky must think there are no better players out there we could get for the same price, which is insane, or he doesn't trust himself to scout and attract the aforementioned quality, which is probably closer to the truth.

Williamson, Taylor, James and Haldane are just not good enough. With the embargo still in place I suppose we are in limbo at the moment, but we need a bit more quality. We need a smaller squad with more quality, as opposed to a big average squad!!

I am not surprised at who he has released and at how many. I think our squad was very small and if with the increased budget we add 6 quality signings, then we will be up there. Players like Taylor and Dodds Pope etc are probably impact players who could come on late in a game and make a difference so are probably worth a place in a squad of say 24 or 25. Adams should be able to attract better players and if he can do this and blend them in with what we have then we should attain success next season.

They won't all accept. Just the 10 or so **** squad players the fans don't want or need.

He was never going to release all but a few members, this can have significant backfires! What about if we dont find 15 players who are better that actually want to play for us? I expect alot of those contracts are short term to prove their worth! I'm happy that we have offered both Shukes and dodds a contract, I think shuker is the reason for dodds' good form!

 

Most of them have had 4 seasons to prove their worth!

Who would have Pope, Haldane, Taylor etc if they don't? I think we will be stuck with the dead wood next season simply because we've offerred them a deal and they wont get one anywhere else.

I'm confident Roe would be better than Haldane and I've never even seen the guy play.

if Richards signs, and we add 4 players better than we have got in terms of a keeper, defender, midfielder, striker, and plug the other holes with players who can hold their own, then we will have a good chance of top 3.

I have not read or seen the article yet but the deals offered could be completely different to what they have had for the past couple of years couldn't they?

 

E.g. Reduced wage, more bonus orientated - match bonus etc.

 

I doubt everyone will be accepting.

I guess that Adams will just tread out the "we were nearly good enough last season" mantra. This, though, in the weakest 4th Division for 20 years.
