Booing own players!

I think people are going abit far by saying booing benning is a disgrace and calling them fans brain dead. Them few fans are probably booing him because they don't agree with the sub or don't like benning as a player. What I'd say is a disgrace is the Dan Jones death threats that's far worse than just booing a player.

I've read this topic over the last few days and totally agree with the general view.   How can it possibly help a genuine player to rediscover his confidence?   Bad enough booing at the end of a match, which I have always thought of as frustration at a bad result. 

However, to give it some perspective,  take a gander at the oatcake,   ashamed and embarrassed thread.  At Blackpool on Saturday,  at the end of the match,  the players came over to thank the fans, as they do.    They were horribly and vilely abused by some.  I'm talking, effing c, effing w,   etc  

I appreciate stoke took 3500 to Blackpool,  many of whom would have got on the sauce.   But it makes our few booing look rather tame,  although still completely out of order.

Mel was just next in the queue after Smith,Conlon,Garrity and Jones,who have all received the same treatment.

Robinson played well considering he was way out of position but  was lucky he wasn`t booked first half and had got a yellow in the second half, both fouls worse than their lad`s who got sent off so I would have hooked him earlier than Clarke did. Those booing really just showed their lack of knowledge, again.

Pretty simply - just don't do it! I may not like all of our players all the time, but sometimes, just being quiet is the best option!

A player should be able cope with a few boos or somebody shouting your <ovf censored> as all players will get that at some point in there careers. What players would most likely struggle to cope with is if something racist was shouted towards a player or like mentioned on my previous post something like the Dan Jones death threats.
