Council decision deferred?

If the council dont accept the offer whats the alternative.

1 A new bidder that gives the creditors a better deal dont think it will be mo though.

2 No new bidder ,club stays in admin, points deduction for next season,

3 Very few ST renewed,

4 Players leave in droves and possibly MA,

5 Not enough players to fulfill fixtures,

6 Possible liquidation, end of line for the club.

This is a pretty good assessment of the risks in my view. I can understand why the Council wants to weigh this up very carefully: whereas they have a power to take action to benefit their local community, they have a duty in law to secure the best financial outcome for their electors. The sooner this is sorted the better, or we run the risk of a 17 points deduction in September, which will blight yet another season.

By the way, does anyone know if a further points deduction could actually be made this season?

Anyone else think the council is just using a bit of talk to make it look like they are trying to negotiate a better deal for the public?

I don't think Ryder needs to up his bid, because they have admitted he had the best bid. In order for someone to come along with a better bid would mean they'd need to raise to a level higher than they bid before, when there was more competition to get the club.

Of course I could be way off the mark, but I wouldn't panic yet.

So do I but it makes you wonder what Mo offered if his bid didn't come in the top 2.

Didn't he mention he'd have left the ground with the council - in which case they'd have still owned the ground and may have got nowt unless they sold the ground at a later date. Who knows, its history now - unless the CVA isn't accepted but lets not go down that route right now

It seems to all be down to Bratt's mate Mr Young's interpretation....the £3p in the £1 is 75k and very low and perhaps Mr Chaudry offered more but wanted to leave the council loan aside for another day and negotiate with the council later....Mr Ryder has got the ground for 800k and perhaps that figure has been used to say it is the better deal......even if it is not for the club going forward or the common or garden creditor......anyway a club can only get a further points penalty if they exit administration without a CVA...if the creditors reject 3p in the £1 then the club can still be in administration while the administrators do their job and work with the interested parties to get a deal done.....could not Ryder stick in extra above that 75k attempt at a CVA being as Ryder didn't mind giving the V2001 Board 100k...then again this did seem to also influence preferred bidder status so it could have been money well spent....Ryder has got the club very, very cheap for whoever.

Ryder has got the club very cheap? All the others clearly wanted to pay even less and where has anyone ever said Ryder being a creditor influenced the deal?

Please explain the logic behind that, who said it or is it just another conspiracy (nonsense) ?

Maybe the council didn't want to be left for 10 years or ever holding on to the deeds to a ground and preferred money up front, we know nothing apart from who won and who didn't come second

Tinfoil hat theories like these are just ridiculous. Bottom line is Ryders bid was the best in the view of the administrators (yes there was more than Bob Young making the decision). Whether that's viewed as getting it cheaply is irrelevant, it was the best offer made.

The Council wants to get as much money repaid as possible. They also want to preserve the public value that came from the loan's purpose - whatever community benefits exist. They can certainly negotiate further with Keith Ryder about that.

This is a difficult issue politically with elections shortly, but when the election hustings get going national and other important local issues will dominate unless the Port Vale issue manages to freeze in the media spot light for a time period.
