This is something I wrote when we last went into Admin. I'm sure you lot can add to it.

I remember Jessie James

Scoring goals, winning games

Tom McLaren - Eddie May

Just like watching Foreman/Clay

Clinton Boulton, Bobby Gough

Numerous players getting sent off

Lol Hamlet, a man of God

Stevie Fox and Kenny Todd

Playing Villa in division three

After promotion with Gordon Lee

Sammy Morgan - clever chap

Bob Delgado - he was crap

Going to matches with my friends

At half-time, changing ends

Selling programmes for a bob

Smallthorne Clampets and the mob

Paddock moaners, Bycars choir

Some games good, some games dire

Playing games on Monday nights

On the pylon's v-shaped lights

Brian Horton, player and boss

Bobby Newton and Ernie Moss

Micky Cullerton 'Stokie Jock'

Lousy tannoy and tunnel clock

Gerry Keenan with a beard

Bernie Wright: defenders feared

Sprosons - Jess, Roy and Phil

Appearance record they hold still

Tony Loska and John Brodie

Fan turned Sec - Bill Lodie

Smith and Butler, Alan Bloor

And their tactics - very poor

John McGrath, rest his soul

Robbie Earle's winning goal

Micky Morris on the wing

A song the Bycars liked to sing

Getting in for ten bob each

Russell Bromage, Kenny Beech

Hamil End with no cover

Johnny Green and Dean Glover

Tony Naylor known as Tosh

Five-nil win against The Posh

Ian Taylor, Van der Laan

Darren Beckford, kit man Stan

Bernie Slaven, Autoglass

Jon McCarthy, he was class

Neil Aspin, Peter Swan

Vale two, Tottenham one

Mussy, Grewy, Trevor Dance

Alan Boswell in a trance

Sharratt, Hancock and Keith Ball

Vale keepers one and all

John Connaughton was another

Neville Chamberlain and his brother

Simon Mills with no hair

And we sang 'We don't care'

Tommy Gore and Felix Healy

Ronnie Wilson, Tony Sealy

Vale market 'close it down

Relocate it in the town'

Alan Tankard and David Lowe

Eight seconds goal in the snow

Selwyn Whalley and his tackles

All the boys with football rattles

Watching training on a day off school

Jackie Mudie and Harry Poole

All men seemed to smoke Park Drive

John Nicholson wearing number five

Matthews' management doomed to fail

City Times and 'I'm Backing Vale'

There was no video or replica top

But on the Hamil, a small club shop

Cheesy oatcakes, a pre-match meal

David Harris and Jim Steel

Wooden press box, like a shed

Tickets bought off dear old Ted

Billy Dearden and Reg Birks

Electronic scoreboard that never works

Arsenal cup match, kicked off late

Penalty shoot-out, fiddled gate

Chris Harper - Sentinel reporter

Junior Valiants - my son and daughter

Playing the youth team from Old Trafford

Terry Bailey signed from Stafford

Vale Chairman - Arthur Mac

Darren Hughes - great full-back

Regular chants of 'sack the board'

David Riley and Gary Ford

Public relations - what is that?

Vale scarf and bobble hat

Prices rising year on year

Gordon Logan and Paul Kerr

Buying 'Seth' - a great publication

Now it's 'Derek' - a distant relation

Porter scoring against Stoke

Regis missing, what a joke

Gareth Ainsworth, what a star

Four-all draw with QPR

Radio Stoke and Kevin Kent

His face didn't fit - Marcus Bent

Money raised by old JR

Then all spent on 'Rent-a Car'

Every match it seemed to rain

Jon McCarthy, back again

Many matches down the years

Lots of joy, lots of tears

Remember the first time you watched the Vale. Remember the first proper mental after a derby goal or a goal to seal promotion or a cup.

Remember those feelings of sheer elation.

Remember administration and winding up petititons. Remember the last two years of hell.

Remember the sick to the pit of your stomach feeling of today.

Remember those who have put our club in this position. Remember those individuals who will take pleasure in our pain at the moment.

Remember that feeling of determination and sheer ****** mindedness you have right now to make sure that we have the last laugh.

Above all remember one thing:

Port Vale is OUR club. The time has come to stand as one and to fight for OUR club like we have never had to before. Never forget it and remember.....

We will not die because we are Port Vale and this is OUR club.

I'll never forget memories like that and Port Vale will always be the only team for me! FACT!

That poem with a couple of extra verses for the likes of Roy Chapman Cullo and me old favourite Ray Williams, should be sold in a frame. I'd buy one for sure. Fantastic and full of memories===
