Pope (Crewe) - 64 Appearances 17 Goals (1 in 4 roughly)

Pope (Rotherham) - 59 Appearances 6 Goals (in in 10 roughly)

Pope (Port Vale) - 42 Appearances 7 Goals (in in 6 roughly)

 

Scored 10 goals once in a season in his career.

If that is the case then I agree with his comments. Please dont just compare his goals ratio without a peep at his assists. Her knows deep down the fans will ALWAYS support the club and the players no matter what.

 

Fans are understandably worried given the mess the board have created. We aren't so much worried about the short term success at the moment, more the longevity of the club.

Tom Pope just been on RS on about rumours.He says he gets lots of texts every day asking about rumours,rumours about stuff like the manager leaving,rumours about players leaving.He blames people sitting at their PCs for this and says it could be damaging.He says that during times like this then the fans should get behind the players.

 

Now I fully agree unfounded rumours could be damaging.But the fans are fully behind the players.Tom don't let the scum running the club to start using you as their spokesman,their face.If the board would come out and tell the fans just what is happening,if they would meet with fans as they have said they will do.Then that in its self would be a huge step in the right direction.

 

Maybe he needs learn how play football.

The fans in general have been very supportive of Pope during and after matches, and they have also been very patient given his poor goals tally, so to turn on the fans via the local media is a bit unfair.
