Tom Pope - rumours

Recommended Posts

Vale have scored 42 goals this season conceded 37 won 10 drew 5 lost 10.

Most of Vales goal come through the unselfish hard work of Pope admittedly I ain't seen the Swindon ,Aldershot,Cheltenham,Grimsby home games due to the economy.

The games I have seen though I've been very pleased with Tom Popes and Anthony Griffiths contribution they have always given 110 per cent as of what I've seen.

I would like to c Tom get three touches of the ball today and score them all not because he is a fellow Vale fan because he has sowed and has yet to reap what he deserves.

In order to get Tom or Marc on

the scoresheet then we really need a Player from the centre of midfield to continually make positive breaks past our forwards to create space for one we r too pedestrian in possession we need to be quicker and braver.

Anyway back to the games I've witnessed Accrington game won by half time good performance by all ,ditto Northampton,Crawley lucky get a draw ,Southend gifted them the game all there 3 goals could and should have been stopped by defenders showing courage which they failed miserably to do,Shrewsbury the same if you concede 3 goals at home you've got bob hope, although in fairness in both those defeats the players kept going well.

Torquay at home very hardworking performance a super all round game by Mr Pope.

In fairness to Tom I can c why he ain't scored many goals the service has generally been woeful in fact if u ran threw every game how often does Marc Richards set Tom up for a easy tap in like v Gillingham away or a well weighted through ball like v Aldershot for Madjos hat trick.

Yates cross v Accrington is the way to go oh yeah I nearly forgot about that magnificent header v Bradford from that dream of a ball from loft.

I think the lads been super for Petes sake the rest of the team put decent balls in then he will thrive.

You've spent two years slating our constant top scorer, often saying we should drop him for youth players, yet get really defensive about people questioning pope. As long as they run about a lot it doesn't matter if they score loads eh!

Anyway, You think pope should play at centre half!

He says he's more concerned about the club than his own contract.Doesn't know if some of the rumours are true but there are some worried faces about at the club.Nothing specific melv.He still thinks we are good enough to make the playoffs.;)

Good to hear he thinks we are good enough for the play offs,I doubt it myself personally. But he is a pro footballer so maybe he knows better.I wonder what he thinks our chances of survival are should Vale manage to get promotion.

I suppose we could start a rumour,' if we get promoted we'll be lucky to get a corner'

Only because we r down to the bare bones there I heard we defended better when he was there in fact we conceded no goals with him there.:):()

As for RICO I'll be honest with you I'd prefer him to only play when we r winning cause to me he goes missing in games as much as Dodds.

When was the last time you could say that RICO was man of the match Chesterfield away our last game at saltergate I'll tell you for a fact in the performances I've witnessed for four years in home games man of the match hardly at all if ever.

As long as he scores I couldn't care less. And those games you only want him playing when we are winning...many of those we are only winning because he has scored!!! Think about it! Your post makes absolutely no sense at all. If you would rather watch us lose, but have players run around a lot then fine, but Id rather watch us win, and having our top scorer and best player playing makes that a hell of a lot more likely.

Well said Andy. That in a nutshell sums up the daft nature of some of our 'educated' football fans.
