Firstly, Blackpool v Vale 88-89, I am sure that it was 2-2 after 7 minutes, anyone have any recollection of this match?

Onto the Wolves match, did anyone go to this game? It finished 3-3. We were in the Wolves end with the Junior Valiants. Great game. Time definately fogs the memory as I was sure Bull was offside for the equaliser.

4minutes in.

I went the Wolves game. We started absolutely brilliantly to go 3-1 up but I was absolutely gutted when Bull (?) made it 3-3.

It was Bull that made I a draw, I was gutted too, 2/3rds of the way up on the Kop end, had to put a smile on my face with the pandemonium around me, The risk of going into the away end.

I remember that game and like Fosse I was in that gigantic Terraced Kop end. It was a really exciting game if I remember. My abiding memory was Wolves fans nicely throwing coins over the huge fence and some Vale fans leaving with blood streaming from their heads. Thankfully events like that are largely in the past now.

As an exile I usually chose the home areas to avoid similar attacks and ambushes. There was the feeling that playing well at Wolves that we were on the way up.

Ironically the police pulled out dozens of Vale fans during the match for doing nothing. I always kept my hands in my pockets when I went to Wolves, West Brom or Walsall. I remember nearly getting arrested at Walsall for waving at a Walsall fan in the ground. Thank god we don’t have policing nowadays like we did back then.

Remember the Wolves game well. Me and mate had been in work Saturday morning and travelled down to the game straight from work. Got there late, nightmare parking. The Vale fans were crammed into the corner of their end, think it was as a result of the Bradford fire and all wooden stands were closed, including the away end. Wolves fans were still coming in as vividly remember being chased as we tried to enter our end, never went through a turnstile so fast in all my life. Remember we were 2-1 up as we arrived, sure we were only 15mins late. Seem to remember Bully scoring, as he always did against us. Never an England striker but a very prolific goal machine in the lower leagues.

I am sure that was the season we didn't get promoted with 89 points, a record at that time.
