Its very, very worrying that no one can work out the team lineup by themselves.

 

A left back and a centre half have got injured and we're all sat here, media and fans, coming up with 361, 352, 442, 4411, 433. No one knows where Hannant, Whitfield, Hardcastle are playing.

 

Would be delighted to be proved wrong but it smacks of a manager unsure of who his best players are and making changes for the sake of it, hoping something sticks.

It's certainly true thst player's reputations and abilities increase markedly when they're not playing! Gibbo was great when he first broke into the side, not least because we'd been subjected to Lawrie Wilson and countless other out of position players playing there. He had a superb spell when he was one of, if not our best, players, but since February last year he's been average at best, certainly in his distribution. Some of you seem to think that no matter how bad somebody plays, in their natural position, they should not be dropped to ensure that 'settled 11'. What kind of nessage would that send out to the players?

 

i'm actually quite confident today. For the first time aside from the opening game, we seem to have our first choice centre midfield available and starting. 2-1 win for me.

 

If you have a specialist RB, surely it makes more sense to play the specialist RB at RB rather than to not use him, shuffle the defence around and play our 2nd top scorer at LB?

 

I hope you are right in predicting the win but I fear another defeat with that line-up unfortunately.

If he's fit and raring to go, thats poor.

 

Gibbons hasn't been at his best but he's a young talent from our academy who has shown exactly how good he is. Dips of form are to be expected. If we played him at RB and Clarke at LB less of this faffing about would occur.

 

Sorry to be a negative nancy I'm just annoyed that a homegrown talent (we don't produce many) is being shafted for being one of a number of below-par players.

That team selection is bizarre to say the least. Loved Aspin as a player but I’m beginning to question him massively now. I was speaking with a current player the other week and he told me that Aspin doesn’t no what he’s doing and I can see why now. Hopefully he proves a lot of people wrong but defeat today and there will be some serious questions being asked and I’m afraid he won’t have much longer.
