Brexit again...

I know the hardened leavers such as yourselves are not going to be convinced we'd be better off staying in the EU as I believe but at least I've arrived at my point of view by informing myself of factual information and using that to weigh up what I consider best for us as a nation.

Many leave voters have followed a similar process but have reached a different conclusion to me. Although I don't share their opinions, fair enough.

What I really can't stand is an argument for any point of view that is based on non-factual rubbish, jingoism, bigotry and a rose coloured fantasized view of the future based on wishes rather than evidential likely outcomes.

Sometimes I have to acknowledge the old phrase that 'there's no point in knocking if there's nobody in'.

We didn't lose, Britain didn't lose, both your statement and mine wont be settled for years... but your last sentence in the above paragraph shows your still thinking as a remainer, we voted, the result being out, we are leaving in march 2019, for good or bad. Why try to change brexiteers minds, whats the point? its as bad as parliament its still divided, they should be as one, Labour are just arguing against it to gain votes, SNP are trying to gain votes and go for independence, the DUP are after more power in N.I.

If everyone in the country and govt, had accepted the result in 2016, the govt. would have been able to show the eu a united front, and get on with our domestic problems ie NHS, instead of all factions arguing amongst them selves...

If in the remainers ideal world we had another ref. and I would grant you the remainers would probably win(because of our infighting the eu have had a head start on making us suffer, throwing difficulties in our path), what then would the brexiteers start arguing to try for another referendum?. That's the reason in a democracy you either vote for or against a proposal and abide by the decision...

Although we are opposed as to leave & remain I think you have a good point about us trying to work together as a nation to achieve the best position we can on leaving the EU because I can't see it not happening as there's no political will to stop it at a senior level.

Trouble is, what is that position because there was nothing whatsoever about it on the referendum? I certainly wouldn't trust the Tory right wing to do what's best, to me they're the enemy of the people and the people ARE the nation. The main thing for me is not to exclude ourselves economically because whatever we do we'll still be subject to almost all EU trading law in order to avoid isolation, just like we are with US trading laws.

I don't think the tories right wing is as much of a problem as the momentum's sorry labours hard left... also as far as excluding ourselves economically that will be down to the eu not forcing us into such a position.

It would be a strange club when you are better off than a member.

I agree and also I don't view the EU as our enemy who wish to harm us, they're our fellow Europeans who, understandably, are disappointed we have chosen to leave and thus weaken a mutually beneficial union.
No doubt they will close ranks and carry on without us.

Or how obstroculus they are. They don’t see us as the enemy but they don’t want to make it easy for us, there are other countries waiting in the wings to see how it all pans out and the EU won’t be wanting anyone else to hold referendums.

They'd better get used to it,plenty of unrest in Italy,Hungary and Poland.

The party within a party, the ERG, and their chums in a think tank called Legatum are far more dangerous than Momentum.
