A free trade agreement for all UK countries, including NI ,with no hard border with ROI.A concession by the EU.Minimal disruption,no return to the troubles. We will need to come to an agreement over and above the 39billion agreed in the divorce settlement. In essence paying for a peaceful NI and ROI.

How long do you think it takes to draw up a trade agreement? (clue: around 5 years)

How would you regulate what comes in and out of the UK from and to the EU? Wouldn't there have to be some form of external regulator to facilitate trade?

Aren't you just describing the single market?

And to think your lot said Brexiteers were thick and didn't know what they voted for?:doh:

What the most worrying thing about your statement there is that the demographics show that more highly educated people were most likely to remain. Maybe they were Leave voters turned Remain?

I reckon most people are thick. (Go on, call me conceited and arrogant!) Some of the smartest people I met at Uni, were some of the strangest and weirdest people about, social rejects but they could understand concepts that would blow any normal persons mind. I worked with a lad doing neuroscience or something on a project (I didn't do that, that was his skill which he was brought into the project to do). He was proper proper stange. Never said a word, never joined in.. dressed like a nut job, when he made this presentation at the end it was one of the best things I'd ever seen. He's at Oxbridge now I think. I still think he's thick on a general basis though, just knowledgeable about certain things.

Common sense is the real measure of intelligence.

Keeping things as they are but able to do deals with the rest of the world without the strings.Initially a painful divorce settlement but which divorce wasn’t?

In other words a Common Market but with no say in the rules, should make it about 2023 or later

With our own laws and ability to trade with who we like. They’ll miss us when we’ve gone unless they keep us close,Fosse.

We will trade with their laws otherwise they will not trade with us, we may need another set of laws to trade with others, should keep costs down?

I’ll agree with that,Jean.Too many obstacles have been put in the way.

No, we just live in a globalised world that has advantages (trade, communications, access) and disadvantages (reliance on others, affected by events in other countries).

The obstacles you reference are merely symptoms of the globalised world which gives you the computer/phone you type this on.
