FA Cup 2nd round draw

Feel sorry for any supporter having to travel that far on a Friday night but from a selfish point of view much prefer the Friday night matches. The atmosphere seems so much better than a Sunday at 2.00 or 3.00pm and the record we have on a Friday night at home over the last few years is really good and then Burslem after the game, Friday night will do for me.

I know, to hell with the romance of the FA Cup. Shame we can't get Colchester at home in the 3rd round that'd be a cracker:drool:

The romance of the Cup is for a L2 side to get a home draw in round 3 versus a prem, or top Championship team...or Birmingham, at our place!! I would take Villa, too - revenge for seemingly endless number of drubbings plus any of the usual suspects top 6 Prem teams|!

Can't do Fridays so my only hope is a Sunday.

Just as a matter of interest, if we get through to the 3rd round and both Vale and Stoke are drawn at home, who gets to play on the Saturday? They're cup games so Stoke can't claim primacy of fixture under that so called 'solidarity agreement'.

I think I could hazard a guess what would happen. But with a bit of luck we will let the balls determine it and be drawn against them, so it will be whoever comes out first.

Ironically, if that did happen, it still probably wouldn't be on the Saturday as it would be televised.

Personally speaking I'd rather have had Oxford City away than Huddersfield away as we got last year. The Forest Green Rovers/Shortwood/Ford United even Chasetown games are more interesting to me. manu away in round 3 would be decent for a payday but it wouldn't get by juices flowing, Chelsea on the other hand would as we've not played them in decades.

And we'd have at least a minor chance of winning, like Bradford did.

They toss a coin, if it's heads Stoke get to play on the Saturday, if it's tails we play on the Sunday.

We buried the Sunday hoodoo last year! Beating MK, Hartlepool and drawing with Fleetwood :)

I think we need to win at least another half a dozen Sunday games before you can say that. The win against Hartlepool was the first Sunday victory at Vale Park since Adam was a lad!
