City will be favorites and rightly so, but Liverpool are more than capable of putting in two good performances to get through, even more so with the way City play football. They'll need a good result at Anfield, and probably a two goal lead going into the second tie. They'll certainly need to keep all 11 players on the pitch! All said done it should be two terrific games and with lots of goals.

And good luck to United too in their tie against... Oh, wait!

Mourinho IN!!!

Id take the cash out option now mate

Yet Liverpool have the best record in the league under Klopp in fixtures against the top 4 or 5 sides.

Try again, and try harder. ************.

  • 3 weeks later...

The usual couple of numpties are very quiet here all of a sudden.

Brilliant performance from Liverpool. You expect the front three to be good in games like this but defensively I thought they were outstanding, every single one of them. To keep City from having a genuine shot on goal for over 90 minutes takes some doing. I will say that they were a little unlucky with the offside goal they scored, as he was probably just about onside, and that goal would have potentially made a huge difference for them. But such is the way of football and Liverpool fully deserve to be three goals ahead.

The game isn't over yet, nowhere near. But I fancy Liverpool to score at least one goal at the Etihad which would mean they would have to score 5 to progress. They've done that before, but that was against 10 men in a game where there was absolutely nothing in it when both sides had all eleven players on the field.

Barcelona are pretty much through already as expected against an average Roma side.

Liverpool put them to the sword tonight. Excellent display against a tired looking side who had nothing to offer.

Easy win in the end for Barcelona, but I think it will be a Real Madrid v Bayern final, if they're not drawn together in the semi-final.

Throwing bottles, flares, and anything they could get their hands on, looked more Turkish than English, but Liverpool's fans don't disappoint there either, with their history of violence.

I wonder what Shankly would say.

It was terrible how the Man City team bus approached Anfield in a threatening manner, forcing 'the best fans in the world' to desperately throw away their refreshments so they didn't trip over and suffer life changing injuries on broken glass as they were forced to flee from the toxic polluting cloud of red smoke emitted from the City team bus, all in an uncontrolled manner because the authorities hadn't organised things properly.

Justice for City.
