personally without facts my feeling is £1.5 is below average for this league(presume coventry,swnidon,chesterfield,luton,lincoln..forest green would have more) , but do agree its how its spent- quality ie streete wanted 100k+ give it and take off the squad fillers

And BOOM!!! you've just wasted your budget because the players' agents know how desperate you are, and their values and salaries have been massively inflated. Well done!!!

 

Boom we get no players, so you are saying brown has no targets which is even more worrying or best to wait and see who is left cause they will be desperate and be cheaper (you dont get your first choice that way)

Our budget is our budget, it's up to Brown how he is choosing to spend it.

In the world I live in if you want someone, you sell the dream hard, knock them off their feet & get them so desperate to join they can't say no. Can't remember ever offering & sitting and waiting. Different industry but if you want someone , you move everything to get them. Simple.

Look at who he has signed and re-signed and is intending to re-sign. Only Pope, who is declining, is quality. The rest are unproven or over the hill. We need to stop filling the squad with bits a pieces until we have secured the main quality in key positions. Far better to have a very good squad of 20-23 players rather than 25+ diluting the value in the team.
