Such absurd waste of lives. Each attack just brings us all closer together and makes us stronger and more determined to beat the terrorists really. We must work to counteract their aims, if they want Muslims and non-Muslims in the West to turn on each other we must prevent that, if they want particular aims and objectives in the Middle East we must ensure they fail. As mentioned previously in this thread... 'A time of sadness, recriminations are for another day when police investigations are more advanced'. Better to leave the political & religious discussion out of this for now, yeah?

 

Pretty terrifying to be honest, going to a festival this weekend & another 2 weeks after, safe to say I'm a little nervous, but it can't stop us from getting on with our lives, or the terrorists win.

 

Thoughts go out to the victims, feel gutted for all involved, & Manchester in general. It's a place I've spent a lot of time in & I love the city. Events like this do bring out the best in some people however, & there has definitely been a strong showing of solidarity.

Security reinforced with armed police everywhere now, even around Leek & the potteries shopping centre, so I imagine the NEC (where I'm going at the weekend) & the Etihad will be even more so. I'm quite glad about it to be honest, I feel exactly the same as you, but we just have to get on with it. They're not going to stop us living & having a good time.

I've come to believe that finally, but it has been hard, I went the same route the London underground bombers went luckly the day before...

ashamed to say it was about 3yrs before I even went to London after that, I avoided London even went across country to avoid the place.
