The die was already cast with Bruno and the downward spiral was set before Brown took over. Sure we can criticise Browns team selections and tactics but he's basically trying to polish a turd.

What goes around Smurf comes around and it's no wonder players didn't want to come to us in January and others wanted to leave.

I will find the post when i have time but when i watched us against kidsgrove athletic i posted saying we are really going to struggle, not convinced by Bruno and don't know where the goals are coming from. We've been dire all season, i haven't seen us play well for 90 mins all season.

Even back in preseason Bruno and Smith said they clearly need to work on the attacking side of the teams play, it was poor in pre season and didn't get much better imo, I can't believe we got off to the start we did.

MB just said it all on P&G, the experienced players he tried to bring in didn't want to come to PVFC. IMHO The blame lies entirely at Bruno and Smurf's feet.
Easy to add players during January to a promotion likely squad, but far more difficult to a struggling team.

I can forgive players who lack ability (Cicilia, Kiko) but Purkiss, Taylor, Hooper, Eagles should hang their heads in shame because they didn't give anywhere near 100% effort.

Michael Brown should go now, to continually pick players who don't give a damn if Vale win, lose or draw is disgusting.

Injuries? I've seen players walk off the pitch this season with 'injuries' that Aspin, Porter, Hunter, Sproson, Hazell....... etc would have laughed off. We've had some genuine injuries no doubt but we've got players who are all to willing to hide from the pressure.

No surprises with the result but I do wonder if MB goes to the same matches I do cause his interviews he talks no nonsense. If he thinks we did well today he should be sacked tonight. Very little fight and passion, tactics and team picked where terrible yet again.FFS Ryan Taylor is not a CM!

Have to say Bikey = Warrior.

Aside from Eagles I completely agree with that.

Men against boys today. United played in 2nd gear after the goal. We can only hope bury are worse than us.

Whether Bury are worse than us may become irrelevant since they are above us in the table. We need at least one of Oxford, Bolton, Walsall or Fleetwood to be worse than us on a given day and that looks increasingly unlikely.

Brown may end up with a worse record than Bruno, but then 3 of the better players in what was already a poor squad left in Jan.

The blame lies solely with Smurf, he appointed a manager with a terrible track record around unheard of clubs around Europe, purely on the basis of a phone call from the blokes mate. When the writing was on the wall and clearly sinking fast, rather than bring in an experienced manager to just scramble us to safety, he gives the jobs to a novice with no management experience, and deprives him of 3 of our better players, when we only had about 5 or 6 players who were good enough for this level anyway.

Expected performance, expected result. Looks like we'll need 5 points from the last 4 games to stay up (hopefully), trouble is, where are they coming from?

Agree with that.

Bury have a very winnable home game against Northampton, which would give them 49 points.

A win and a draw for the Vale(which I very much doubt)would also give them 49 points, but with an inferior goal difference.

Vale must win two games for six points to have any chance of surviving in L1.

Even Swindon may finish above Port Vale.

Two mins and all the bulid up to the game was ruined .

Id like apologise to all the Vale fans who have gone today ,all week i have being positive then that after two flaming mins that optimismwas banished .

What the hell was Kiko doing and who was Osheas man .

My heart is downcast now in my opinion we rolled over and had our tummies tickled .

The fans encouraged the best they could .

All the best to you fab Vale fans who have witnessed a season of total rubbish in the main

I think most of the shirts were as clean as they left the field as when they took to the field .

Embarassed by the players who dont have what it takes .

I just want the season end now .

No more rally cries the football club is dead .

I need get away from football its not what it was .

There are so many things I can't comprehend today;

1. Why scapegoat DeFreitas for last week's loss?

2. Why pick the same team as against Rochdale?

3. Whycplay Kiko at left back with no protection in front of him?

4. Why put Foley out wide after the injury?

5. Why play Hooper?

6. Why waste Eagles out wide when he is clearly dangerous as a number 10?

7. Why put Kelly on and give up with 10 minutes to go?

8. Why more muscle injuries?

9. Why allow ****** from both sides to throw flares?

10. Why ask the United fans to sit down twice and make yourself look stupid?

11. Why announce the attendance and make our club look tinpot?

12. Why on earth did the manager come out all upbeat after that terrible performance?

WHY, WHY, WHY?

My prediction before the game was 4 nil so did slightly better than I thought but yet again another abject performance apart from a 15 minute spell just after half time. Other than Smith and Bikey who were really good at the back, kept Billy Sharp quiet and Reg who did ok with a lack of service, the rest were pretty awful.

Again Brown made many baffling decisions, we were poor against Chesterfield and he only makes the 1 change. Kiko whose confidence looks shot kept his place again, Tanser despite not being the best is surely a better option. How did Ryan Taylor keep his place after last week as well.

Eagles was probably man of the match the last 2 or 3 home games and then played on the left today, why can't Gibbons get a game, he can't be any worse than Purkiss or Taylor at right back.

Agree with all of that, main reason is Brown is simply not up to it.
