F C Port Vale

Recommended Posts

The adverb is linked to the adjective to make it a single entity in this instance.

Hope that explains"why"

Is that a rule? Never heard that one. So "I firmly believe Bruno is a daft ****" should be "I believe Bruno is a firmly-daft ----". New one on me. Not much cheerful to talk about other than pedantry at the moment.

I make it up as I go along. It never did Smurf any harm

Took the mind off the game for an hour or two, thinking about grammar. Not such a bad thing. So thanks. I think the hyphen is the last refuge of the scoundrel punctuation wise. If in doubt - [sic] use a hyphen. Try to avoid them myself. But with composite nouns it is tricky.

Green-house (past) = Greenhouse

To-morrow (past) = Tomorrow

Wave vector (past) = Wave vector, Wave-vector, or Wavevector. Take your pick.

One of those confusing things that evolve with time. Don't like hyphens though - [sic] smack of sitting on the fence.

I would prefer 'Burslem Port Vale' rather than 'FC Port Vale'

NO ! A million times no.

Changing the name of the club in any way would destroy it completely and mean a large number of fans totally sever their connection and support for ever.

As bad as Wimbledon becoming MK Dons and trying to pretend it was the same club for a while.

Aren't things bad enough right now without having the very name of the club under threat - I believe in the 1930s it was close to being changed to some horrific nondescript crap title like Stoke United or Stoke North End. NO !

Immediate following our promotion season I widely criticized Norman Smurthwaite and his ability to run our football club. I was massively berated when I suggested that he was a bumbling bafoon and needed to appoint a CEO. Most narrow minded fans could only see that he was the savior of Port Vale. This is simply not true. Six other bidders sat at that table.

I only hope that we can prepare for our next chapter in our history. Let's not go into denial let's not kid ourselves as you all did following Norman's take over when he was celebrating in burslem with his adulating drunken very Nieve fans.

Norman will not sell the club and the ground.

No one ever will buy the football club without the ground.

We will be relegated this season absolute fact.

We will drop out of the league next season. Fact

We are heading exactly the same way as Chester, Stockport.

FC Port Vale really is not that far away . Our fan base with a descent ground share will see us back in the league within ten years.

The question is do we keep paying Mr Asset Stripper Norman our ticket money to watch his cash starved teams loose every week. Or do we just wait for the ineviatble.

I am done Norman there are no winners in this you were duped into believing Port Vale would make you money by Wildes .

You had no clue about running a football club .

We have all been their if a business doesn't bring you a golden egg year one you pull back on staffing costs.

I look forward to a day you are no part of our beloved club

Can I just say that at the moment I am suffering with my mental health and posts like this prohesising Vale going out of the league don't help. This is one of the reasons why I've avoided this site for so long. For the record as well I don't want to support some non-league club, if I wanted to do that I would go Kidsgrove. If Vale dropped out of the league that would be the end for me. I probably would just start following Kidsgrove, might as well. No, what we need is for Norman to sell the club and he can start by revisiting the Synectics proposal, entertaining a more realistic valuation. I honestly believe Carol Shenagan would be the best thing to happen to this club. However, once again just like what happened for years under Bratt the interested parties are being frozen out. It's like Newton, Palladini, Mo etc all over again.

Well said.

The interested party are now not allowed to talk to our owner on match days, or any other day.

He's sipping his claret knowing his end game will happen on his terms, whenever he wants, to the detriment of the club or not.

Only Vale "fans" could plan our name change for WHEN we

a) go down and

b) go down again

I pray to God the negativity on here isn't indicative of people in the club.

This pessimism would turn me away sooner than on the pitch performances. I'm sick of reading it. It's not like it's an opinion, it's a mindset.

DQ FC sounds a bit better don't you think Smithie?

It is getting tedious now.Every thread turns into the same.

Just because you put the word fact at the end of a sentence doesn't make it a fact. Fact!

Just a suggestion, instead of posting your daft, negative, OTT ramblings on here, why don't you get off your fat arse & do something about it??

I wonder I chesterfield fans are planning FC chesterfield - likewise Swindon fans?
