Micky to stand down

I haven't read all 3 pages but am I the only one who could see that if ADAMS stayed as a directer it could be a good thing, with MARK on board and I beleave LLOYD wants change, we may have a chance of taking over within ..... ADAMS is no mans fool and he can see major investment is needed to move the club forward,he may only get one chance to vote on something before his sponsorship is ripped of him ..

We may not need Micky on the board.

Mark Sims and Mike Lloyd would technically outvote the other two because the Chairman (Lloyd) has the casting vote.

Let Micky go back to what he's good at - managing.

Lets hope Mark gets on sooner than later, like to-day..wishful thinking me thinks..

What's frustrating is the fact that we've had all pre-season to sort out everything following on from the EGM - and what has occurred? Virtually nothing.

Let's hope that real change is just around the corner but these people will cling on like grim death.

I disagree. If I was the manager I would want unity and no protest or march.

As an employee (players) I would want a settled working environment not one of uncertainty and unrest.

There is unity and it is pro-change and anti-board....the march is a massive show of unity...what Adams really means then is that either he doesn't want unity or he wants the fellow Directors concerned to end the uncertainty and unrest and honour the overwhelming vote of no confidence and resign.

The squad has lost experienced players and has replaced them with inexperienced chancers.

If we had never taken a punt on 'inexperienced chancers' we would never have come across Ian Taylor, Steve Guppy, Lee Mills, Gareth Griffiths, Stewart Talbot, Steve McPhee, Steve Brooker, Ian Armstrong, Marc Bridge-Wilkinson etc. I personally would prefer us to take on promising younger players than journeymen.

This is just another way of the board trying wriggle out of significant change IMO.

It seems from comments on here and elsewhere the compromise the Pro-Change Vale fans are willing to accept is:

Mike Lloyd is stay on any interim board

Not up for negotiation is the removel of BB and GO.

If Adams is going to step down I hope they as the current incumbents have got the bottle to listen to the fans and sign up to the above. If not then SEO continues as do the protests.

What we need now is strong leadership from Mike Lloyd to stand up to BB & GO persude them to step down and then we can all get on with watching the football.

People doubted Micky's word when he said he was only joining the board for football reasons to sign players. They said if he was a man of his word he would stand down once it was done.

Now it looks like he is going to do this and he still gets grief. Unbelievable.

Adams said they will not be going the loan route and will rely on the young players if needs must.

It is not really the case that the squad is stronger althought the division certainly is and Adams will have to work all his mid-table magic to achieve the heights of the last two seasons.

While Pope has replaced Justin Richards will Pope replace a 15 goals a season striker...the squad lacks goals.

Two second year professionals replaced by two first year professionals.

Kris Taylor a quality experienced player with two promotions replaced by a player from the depths of non-league with no league experience.

Tommy Fraser the captain and an experienced player replaced by a Hoddle Academy player with no league experience.

Last season Pope was on loan this season a Hoddle Academy player with no league experience.

The versatile and moblie Ritchie Sutton replaced by a centre back who failed a medical on a six month deal.

The squad has lost experienced players and has replaced them with inexperienced chancers in what is going to be a much tougher division

so it is perhaps wrong to say that the squad has been improved.........

the couple of certainties are that the established squad have bottled it the last two seasons and only inexperience has been added such that another mid-table finish in a much stronger league could be an achievement and anything less than mid-table would be a real concern given that Adams is not the manager for a relegation scrap...a good start is very important for football league safety.

That is all nonsense just because they lack experience doesnt mean they will flop, so stop moaning and get behind the team. ***.

Will you make up your mind what you want. The last few years banging on about promoting youth, and how the likes of lawrie, malbon, richman et al were the next big thing, and now you want experience!

So, if MA resigns as director once MS comes in then we will still have 4 directors. However, MS said he would only come in if GO and BB left the board, so aren't we therefore back to a board with just Lloyd and Sims? Who are the other 2 board members that would make up the 4?

Only speculation, but MS will buy £50,000 of shares, potentially off GO and/or BB. The RW proxy will then be used for a fans representative. This does leave us one short, but as has been shown by example with the MA vote on, any number of past original directors who were unceremoniously dumped by the current board, could be voted back on within a few days through a postal vote.

I see, thanks SV. All sounds a bit messy to be honest. Presumably said "past original director" would be Thompstone given he was allegedly prepared to be part of the "interim board" after the EGM.

Not just Thompstone, there are at least another half dozen who have gone over the years that are still large scale shareholders, e.g. Charles Machin (), and it would not even have to be them, they could simply sponsor someone onto the board that people feel to be fit and proper.

As for it being messy, it has only ever been messy because BB & GO are so reluctant to have any transition of power, let alone a smooth one. It could have all been so much neater and smoother if they hadn't been so selfish and greedy in their self-perceived ownership of the club!

The post was just pointing out the fact that many experienced players have

been replaced by inexperienced players to cut costs. It was just a statement of fact in response to an unfounded claim that the squad was now somehow stronger.

Certainly youth graduates and young players should be given a chance and player development is very important which has been a problem under Adams who seems to have made a sudden big U-turn.

The two Sheffield United babies are first year professionals and as third choice left back and fifth choice centre back very much fringe players.

The two Hoddle Academy players have been dumped and bought a way back into the game and most do find a non-league club...unlike Richman and Lawrie who have played at a higher level both have no league experience or regular football and at 22 seem to be starting their first job proper....however they are said to have good technical ability and Hoddle is a good coach so if they are disciplined and work hard and can be quick to learn they might prove to offer usefull cover.

McDonald was on the books at Man City and has been playing in the league above but there must be a slight question over the shoulder problem given

the six month contract or it could just be down to money.

Green although only second choice left back could be the pick of the so called chancers as a genuine regular non-league player who has worked hard and has been given a break.

Discounting first year professionals as they have a lot to learn quickly inorder to step up and are still growing strength wise the first team squad has 21 players and given the injury problems last season with a small squad the squad size seems decent as to the quality and genuine competition for places then the jury is still out.

Adams does seem to have taken a longer term view and the reserve team

does now give the impression of a club with player development on the agenda.
