I realise that this might not go down too well with some of you on here but for me, Birchall offers so much more for the team than Moore. And tonight, another big performance from McGiven who was my star man.

I don't think anyone would disagree that Birchall has the potential to be a good player, he was once, maybe he can get back there,

For me Moore showed why he is in league 1, At Barnsley he was fantastic and tonight terrible, but for me he is very dangerous on his day and a decent goal threat. Granted today Birchall offered more though.

We need Purkiss back ASAP as well

Byron had a poor game, but I think that was a function of their full back and wingers tracking very well with great pace rendering him pretty much ineffective. He is far better with Purkiss behind him too, why are we playing Yates?

Credit to Page for the substitutions, thought Uche changed the game and did very well for both goals. Kelly looked very bright also, and very happy with Alnwick and AJLS.

We were very flat for the first 80 minutes and deserved to be a couple down, so really glad we held on and the subs worked. Dare we say the P word?!

Don't agree with that. Moore played well first 15 minutes of the 2nd half when he was give the ball in front of him. The issue is he is better with Purkiss. Both birch all and Yates slow the pace of the game

Tonight for me was a very important win and a resolute showing from our boys. Again I thought we didnt pick our strongest 11, whether that be through fitness or not and for me the starting 11 tonight really struggled, could have been 2-0 down if not for the brilliant Alnwick. First half was really poor, we didnt look like we wanted to win. Then the second half was similar, Birchall came on (certainly wouldnt have been my choice) although he replaced Moore who was really bad, and did very well indeed. However for me AJ and Kelly won us this match, AJ looks unstoppable up top at the minute, hence our uptake in form as we seem to have a very good goalscorer. Kelly should have started, he has quality, yes he is lightweight but he has a great left foot on him and was great again tonight. Many havent performed to even half of their ability tonight but luckily a couple did, and that was enough to beat a truly woeful outfit in Blackpool, (worst team Ive seen without doubt). Anyway Page got the subs spot on even if me and probably many others wanted more attacking changes. Tonight was an important because we were poor until the last 20 minutes.

Anyway a very important and an excellent run of form of which all deserve credit, another winnable game saturday, I just hope page attacks them as we have better players than many think. Up the Vale.

So far in the few games Kelly has been involved in i think he has 3 assists and 1 goal, not too shabby that

It's a good run, and particularly so in the context of the 3 games in 5 days.

Important to not get carried away though because we've beaten 4 sides in poor form (albeit Shrews have gone to Sheff U and won tonight.)

I still have reservations about Page personally but this run has dug him out of what looked like a crisis. Fair play to him and the side for that and long may it continue.

My only fear is that we are now 2 points outside the play offs which is fantastic BUT we all sadly know what usually happens when we get that close,so come on Vale lets do it this time and get in there

A pretty average performance in appalling conditions but fair play to the lads they kept going and Page's substitutions effectively won the game. Apart from his one mistake at the weekend, McGiven has been tremendous during this unbeaten run and again had a fine game.

Sorry but can't agree TC. Tonight, Birchall was always looking to move the ball forward whereas Moore when he had the chance to move forward was content to stop the play and pass it back or at the best, square. I do agree that the final ball from both of our full backs was very poor and the game slowed down when they were in possession.
