1. What is your analysis of the game?

Vale on top but Maidenhead worked liked Trojans to stay in the game. Goalkeeper Carl Pentney was unquestionably man of the match. Vale just couldn't get that vital second goal. When Maidenhead hit the post and missed the follow up just before half time I thought our chance might have gone. Then you hit the bar after the break and brought Uche on it looked like game over. However the unbelievable spirit of the Maidenhead team reflected by the fantastic travelling support meant the Magpies didn't give up. Cracks started to appear when Vale started wasting time with substitutions & dead ball kicks, then keeping the ball in the corner. Knew we had one last chance in us. Can barely decribe the goal, only that it took every effort to get it over the line. Worth a replay!

2. Did you think it was a fair result?

Ultimately yes. Maidenhead's resilience deserved a replay.

3. Any views on the referee?

Fine. Good job.

4. Who (if any) Vale players impressed you including a Vale MOTM?

Couldn't say. Wide players were good.

5. Which (if any) Vale players were you not impressed by?

See 4.

6. Who was your Maidenhead MOTM?

Goalkeeper Carl Pentney.

7. Who do you think will win the replay?

Vale have missed their bite of the cherry...

8. What did you make of Vale Park (the ground, the facilities, the atmosphere etc.) and could you supply an overall mark out of 10?

8/10 Decent ground. Be great to see it full.

Fair comments from him.

As for the replay the pressure is on Vale who have a point to prove and pride to restore. If MUFC battle on as they did at Vale park they will do well and will give Vale a hard game.Well done Maidenhead for the way you battled right to the end.Vale didn't deserve to win Maidenhead fully deserved the replay.

We should not be to surprised by yesterday's result, the gap is getting smaller, you only have to look at the number of non league teams in tonight's match. The next 8 days are absolutely critical, Barnsley will for sure be up for Saturday's match, and next Tuesday the players must improve dramatically to save our season, and Rob Pages job.

I agree the gap is getting smaller. Hence Vale taking West Brom to pens and Luton taking Stoke to pens. Take your patronising views elsewhere.

1. What is your analysis of the game?

The one piece of genuine quality in a passionate if scrappy match came from Vale, Dodds clever through ball and a calm finish from Moore. Maidenhead hung in there, stayed in the match, our fitness in the final ten minutes pegged you back and we earned our fortune with the deflected strike having earlier hit a post and had an effort pulled back for offside.

2. Did you think it was a fair result?

Yes. Aside from the aforementioned piece of genuine quality we restricted you to bits-and-pieces in and around the box and Vale rarely opened us up. Our players worked hard, kept a good shape and earned the draw.

3. Any views on the referee?

No real issue with his handling of a scrappy match, but four in the book without a really bad tackle being made all afternoon seemed a little over-bearing.

4. Who (if any) Vale players impressed you including a Vale MOTM?

Antony Grant was a stand-out player, dominating the middle of the park and the fact that we equalised after he was substituted speaks volumes. Dodds looks an intelligent player, as shown by his clever pass for the opener. Ikpeazu was a handful but I felt our centre-halves relished the battle with him.

5. Which (if any) Vale players were you not impressed by?

The least impressive thing about your players was the policy of holding of the ball in the corner as injury time ticked away. I can understand that they were looking to ‘see the job through’ but your fans in the adjoining stand were hugely unimpressed and there was a touch of karma about our equaliser coming right at the death.

6. Who was your Maidenhead MOTM?

We had 11 hardworking heroes (plus 3 substitutes). Carl Pentney our goalkeeper kept you out with two good saves from Vale half-chances.

7. Who do you think will win the replay? (if its a draw of course!)

We’ve only lost one match at York Road this season, so we’ll fancy our chances! Penalties perhaps?

8. What did you make of Vale Park (the ground, the facilities, the atmosphere, the fans etc.) and could you supply an overall mark out of 10?

Vale Park is a large and impressive arena for League 1 football, however with a small crowd rattling around inside the atmosphere was rather poor. Granted, this was neither an occasion nor performance for Vale fans to get tremendously excited about. The Vale supporters were generous in their applause for our players efforts and the management remarked on this after the match. Stewarding was sensible and the exuberance of Maidenhead fans at the end was dealt with in a manner which wasn’t heavy handed.

That is an excellent summary. Very honest and sensible.
