Sat in the car waiting for traffic die down so I'll write my thoughts on a miserable afternoon.

 

Team selection i suppose was expected although IMO streete should be playing.

 

So many of our players were completely anonymous today, dodds and andoh being the main culprits, if they weren't anonymous they were poor, as was the case with Moore.

 

It's the worst we've been this season and reminded me of last year under page, very negative looking for a point rather than 3 against a very poor side in bury.

 

Passing was slow and predictable, crossing and corners were dire, and our one chance we had inniss completely flopped it.

 

The thing that annoyed me the most was the constant shouting at andoh from Dickinson and mainly Duffy. People say he's a good talker well it looked like he dented andohs confidence today, personally thought he was poor as well, made good blocks but off his own errors. Foley and Alnwick were excellent.

 

Alnwick 8, some great saves early one to keep us in it.

Purkiss 6, defended ok but not the same going forward as in other games.

Inniss 6, average, missed our best chance.

Duffy 6, as above an average performance.

Dickinson 6, didn't get forward enough to help andoh.

Grant 7, kept the ball well but sometimes held it for too long and lost it on occasions.

Foley 8, our best player, great energy looks a better version of loft. Loads of effort.

Moore 5, rubbish looks low on confidence again, didn't dare take his man on and never got to the by line.

Andoh 5, felt sorry for him with the different messages he was receiving but wasn't in the game.

Dodds 5, honestly contributed nothing.

Uche 5, awful, not his day at all but kept working hard but wow he was poor today.

 

Subs:

All pointless subs that were never going to change the game, come on it's league 1 football why the hell are we bringing the likes of Lloyd and Daniel on. Again Daniel is not a replacement for uche.

 

Overall we were crap and so were they, our first 11 is decent enough but there is nothing on the bench. We've got some easier games coming up and need to improve upon today which was truly awful. Page for all his good work needs to learn on his substitutions. We always look weaker than the opposition last half hour.

If it was upto me I would be trying to get the Rochdale manager. He has worked miracles there on a shoestring budget.

 

It won't be him IF Page goes.I think Bodin would take over.

We are bigger club, bigger playing budget, higher attendances and would probably pay him more money. No brainer really

Think we will comfortably avoid relegation. It's just that the season could/should be a lot better. But for ****s sake, Ryan Lloyd and Colin Daniel!

It sounded like we didnt have a team today, 11 players doing their own thing but no team.

God knows how many corners but no threat, passing instead of shooting, shooting instead of passing and lots of running around in different directions trying to look busy.

I dont really understand trying to hold on to the draw on 46 minutes and bringing on subs to try to score on 85 minutes to get the draw back.... if we are going to lose at least lose trying to win.... it seems the best defence is panic

Got what we deserved today, nothing. Did there keeper even have a save to make. Long season ahead😓

We do need to freshen things up a bit - nothing major but at least a couple of changes. I also think the sooner MOC is back to take free kicks and corners the better.
