Reading this I have empathy with Smurf to a degree as our gates were down and we have not had a decent cup run to bring in money. The budget was always going to be cut. However each week we save money without paying big earners like Pope, Marshall etc and if all that £1.7 million has gone on the current squad then Norman is frankly being ripped off because Campion is an Ali Dahl (the Southampton fake player, who claimed he was George Weah's cousin) chancer worth no more than £100 per week. Birchall was so bad last season that I'm only glad he is being paid by Vale because I'd hate his wages to come out of mine via his job seekers allowance. Meanwhile anymore than £500 for Dodds, Yates, Daniel, Dickinson and at least half the rest is a rip off.

 

Only O'Connor, Neil, Streete, Brown from the ones I've seen play are worth paying a wage more than this who we have left in our squad.

 

So where are the real players?

No it isn't. Obviously the amount of money coming into the club affects the quality on the pitch

Were obviously going to sign at least a striker, probably two before the season starts. How easily wound up are some of u lot, its laughable. Smurf knows we need a good striker to compete and i trust him to deliver, cause as of yet on that front he hasnt let us down.

When you start hearing arguments like "buy more season tickets" the fans may as well run the club themselves. We attempted that in theory with Valiant 2001 and it was not successful because we put in charge a very poor choice. Smurf has done a lot for the club and although I'm deeply tempted to view him as a massive piggy bank. However his decisions have been fairly shrewd. I'd rather he did stick loads of money in and emotionally I want that....but is it ever going to be sustainable?

Poor quality or lists like the retained list will not attract those extra fans through the gate.That retained list has a LOT to answer for.

I am sure there was a Forum re how the quality on here was on the slide

I used to come on here to learn and educate myself of the needs and challenges

Now most of the time l learn very little and now have to be careful l do not come down to the level of some on here

I love this Club

Why have you sanctioned the signings we have made so far without leaving room for any strikers?

 

That question has been asked many times Smurf wont answer it , not directly anyway.
