I would love to be there, but football is far too expensive at the moment for me. £30 for me & my wife, plus travel costs and babysitter costs, and all of a sudden it's well over £100.

There are plenty of good reasons why people can't attend football games and financial costs is one of them. You may have money to burn, but other people don't. So have some respect for those who can't afford it but still want to go, instead of the patronising roll eyes nonsense.

I find it hard to believe that you have no spare cash at all, after bills.

Alternatively, you can't afford because you value other "luxuries" above football. Fine if that's your choice, but I can't see it being correct that you simply cannot afford.

Wasn't having a dig at you, Twitters. Your current situation makes life difficult for you. It's the "I'm not going until XYZ is gone" or "I'm not going until they serve better pies" mob that I was getting at.

No I knew you weren't, I just get annoyed at people who seem to think money grows on trees. Things change when children come along & my priority has to be my daughter. I still scream and shout at the radio, I still cheer every goal and we have trained Grace to cheer for Vale too, even got her shouting yay Tom Pope whenever he scores!

I would love to be there every game, as would Loz. I can't wait to take Grace to her first game. I just can't financially justify it.

I have to say that is a silly, insensitive post.

Maybe you could help them both out and drive them to the game and back. Then they could explain to you during the journey. ;)

I'm sorry but I just cannot believe that Mark has received -16 thumbs down for his (this) post. Here is a young man with a family starting out on life's long journey, there will be plenty of games ahead where they can hopefully attend, either separately or together but that's for the future whence finances dictate.

They should certainly NOT be castigated by anyone for choosing food and clothing over watching 11 men kick a pigs' bladder round a field and anyone who does should hang their heads in shame......in my humble opinion of course.

Good luck to you both Mark and Loz.....and of course young Grace, I know that you will all be cheering on the lads on Tuesday as indeed will be many Vale Fans in far-flung shores, all wishing they could be there and all hoping that their hopes for a positive result are met, just as those on the terraces will hope the same.

I don't think the post has a fat lot to do with it BHF. More the fact that they bought STs when MOLD were in charge.

For the record, I haven't thumbed on this thread

Thank you Twitters for coming on and explaining your situation. I'm sure you speak for many others, who in the present financial climate have similar problems. Why don't the Supporters Club arrange a fund for those with similar problems? I'm sure there are many others who don't want to admit their problems and sometimes give excuses like "I'm not going to watch that rubbish again." What about laying on free or cheap transport, particularly for night matches when public transport is non-existent in some areas?

Them and a few 1000 other fans who paid and turned up to back their team regardless of who owned the club.

I doubt I will be in attendance, I have been back in the UK for 5 weeks, called out the doctor 5 times and 999 twice to attend my mother. I have taken her to the hospital and tried to arrange a hearing test [as she is deaf and blind in one eye and getting isolated] and tried to get my father reassessed from memory loss to dementia because he has totally lost the plot... There are far more important things than football, people will attend if they want to, can afford to and/or dont have "other" things to do.

Although I love Vale it is not on my list of priorities its on my to do if possible/practicable list,

Hope you can get everything sorted and squeeze in a game soon.

I will be going, been back in the UK for two weeks and been to three games, won three and not conceded a goal. Never considered myself as a lucky omen but rest assured I'll be there on Tuesday night travelling over from Lincoln.
