What? Since when did Ed come out with anything left wing and idealistic?

Bob on, there is no left wing or progressive thinking in this country as the Overton window has shifted so far to the right if you mention social justice, fairness and more grass roots democracy you are classified a commie.

Bringing the £8 minimum wage in will kill at least three birds with 1 stone- many unemployed will actually apply for a job and have more incentive to better themselves furthermore there will be better returns to the state's coffers in the form of income tax furthermore we can then escape the realisation that is cheap foreign labour and possibly possibly Labour may see sense and actually think about escaping the dreaded clutches of the EU as labour from abroad will be less dependent upon it will become a nationwide revolution and we will then start to have a cleaner more responsible society- there will be less borrowing and less people depending on tax credits saving even more money..Its a win win

£8 an hour will result in less jobs and higher priced commodities, it wont solve anything.

True..we need Ed and the Labour party to be more radical to be more leftist..I might not agree with that but we need it..we can't have everyone hovering around the middle as that does no good at all

That's what Blair did do well, he moved 'new' Labour so far to the right that the Conservatives had no where to go and therefore he killed any opposition.

Milliband on the other hand has one option, he could go....and **** himself! :)

I belive 100% in social justice, fairness and grass roots democracy. I may disagree on how to achieve the same but that does not mean that I don't believe in them.

What he did on so many things was despicable..including hijacking highly principled labour supporters for his own ends..for me he let down true Labour supporters and the 'working man' he was supposed to represent very badly. But I am sure Labour will learn from that also

Totally agree, when I said he did it well I meant that he did it well from his and his cronies perspective of power. In doing do you are quite right he sold the left down the river, similar in a way to the credibility Clegg lost following what he had built up in the run up to the last election.
