I'll be watching but I have no optimism while Hodgson is in charge. He's a nice bloke and obviously has tons of experience but I don't think he's the kind of manager that will allow the likes of Sturridge, Sterling and Barkley play their natural game. I do believe we have talent in this country though, the below team is very promising and none of them older than 25 excluding Joe Hart.

Hart

Clyne (23)

Chambers (19)

Jones (22)

Shaw (19)

Henderson (24)

Wilshere (22)

Barkley (20)

Walcott (25)

Sterling (19)

Sturridge (25)

And from the top of my head there is Stones(20), Blackett(20), Flanagan(21), Townsend(23), Oxlade-Chamberlain(21), Berahino(21), Zaha(21) and Welbeck(23)

That's a lot of talent and a fair few players with the potential to be world-class, namely Sterling, Barkley, Sturridge and Shaw. That front 3 could hurt any international team in the world on the counter.

I honestly don't think I'll ever see England win a major tournament. Were just simply not good enough. The best chance we had was Euro 96..

We'll probably win all the friendlies and group games for Euro 2016,but when we get there we just bottle it as per usual. Were just way to far behind other teams now, even if we have 1 or 2 decent players. I really don't know how you can say though that any of the England squad have got potential to be World class. Would any of them get in Real Madrid's, Barcelona or even Bayern Munich's side??

So you now have to play for one of those 3 clubs to be considered world-class these days? Get out of here. I'm not just saying this because he plays for Liverpool, but if Sterling continues to improve he could well play for Barcelona or Real Madrid one day. He's got pace, strength, skill, tactical awareness and if he can work on his finishing there's no limit to what he can achieve. I could argue that Sturridge's goal scoring record for Liverpool is already world-class, and ultimately that's what forwards are judged on. There's absolutely no reason why Shaw can't become one of the best full-backs in the world just as Ashley Cole was for so long, he has all the attributes. Barkely could be the new Gerrard, and although Stevie has had his critics for the national team nobody can argue that he's been one of the finest midfielders in football over the last 15 years or so, almost single handedly winning numerous games for Liverpool including an FA Cup final.

That Townsend kid from Spurs was tipped to be the next best thing, but look what's happened to him??I know he had an injury but not heard nowt off him really. Sterling is a very good player and he could end up playing for a "bigger" club one day like Arsenal. Only joking by the way..

Terrible joke.

As for us winning anything, probably not. I'd just like to see us actually perform though, play some good football even if we go out in the quarters or semi's. We have more than enough attacking talent in the side to compete if it is used correctly.

When I look at the Germany world champions team it is made up of good players but nothing more than England has available. I think it is nonsense to say we don't have talent. Both countries would be thrashed by the 1970 Brazil team and that is the standard we are at. We somehow just need to get the players to play as a team more effectively, it seems to be difficult, but shouldn't be.
