tbh i do think this should have been sorted out behind closed doors but this is obviously not the case. bad pr all round.

in terms of who is right and who is wrong well , i would be very interested to find out exactly what the vitc do and have been doing . my daughter attends a school in birches head . sjoke have been there 3 times , vale not once . my daughter is moving to middle school this coming september . it was mentioned to me last night that through the school in conjunction with sjoke, kids can attend matches and obtain travel to and from for £5 with goodies thrown in . sjoke have done this for the last few years , the good news is for the first time ever vale are doing it this year . who organised this ? norman or vitc?

in general i have to say from my standpoint vtic are very low profile but i will not hang them so to speak without evidence . i would like to think that with normans input and the current vitc a new and refreshed outlook could be found, or is it too late.

Agree. It seems nothing at Vale gets sorted out behind closed doors. All the dirty laundry seems to be washed in public and everyone comes out of it badly.

Having two professional football teams in a small city one of which is in the premiership means Vale will always struggle in the community.. We simply don't have the resources to compete.

You concentrate on the local schools in the areas. Look at the resources you have at your exposure and then prioritize the school by size, distance etc. and make a real effort to build a sustainable partnerships.

I am fully behind norm on this issue. jim Cooper vitc has done very little to promote or help the club. a complete overall of the scheme has been required for a number of years. norm has had the bottle to do it good on you. there is no room for people to create there own empires within the club.

I'm not sure it's all about competing. The remit should be to engage as many local people as possible, and that is the same for all community initiatives.

I'd be interested to see how other cities compare.....the smaller clubs in those places (London, Bristol, Birmingham, Greater Manchester etc) don't seem to give up the ghost quite so easily!

I would like the right to reply on your statement regarding the smallthorne primary school that your son attends, these are the facts which can be checked by contacting your school:

We provided free sports coaching at Smallthorne primary school free of charge for six weeks quite recently and we also organised and accompanied Tom Pope into the school to open a new play area pictures and editorial available from the Sentinel.

We have worked in New Ford Primary school for one hour per week since September 2013 and only finished at the end of June, they are looking forward to working with us in September.

I hope this helps to re-inform you.

What benefit has the club seen from this activity?
