I thought apart from a handful of games in our promotion season he was rubbish in league 2 too.

 

He'll put the occasional pearler of a cross in but he can't defend, spends a lot of time injured and looks generally disinterested.

 

And at the time he was deployed as a winger I think i'd have looked less out of my depth.

 

I'm just glad he's not playing for us next season. He's the type of player that would take Chesterfield back down.

Below average player for us. Loads of pace but implicated in a lot of "goals against". Not that great a signing for Cfd in my opinion but change of club can mean change of fortunes. Glad he's got another chance at it, the Loft incident could have been terminal for his league career given his form at the time as well.

I'm sure Chesterfield fans will think DJ is getting slated because of what happened with Lofty, but DJ did us a massive favour. He was nowhere near good enough for our defence yet he had a year left on a well paid contract.

 

I honestly wouldn't have him in the team if he was playing for free & that's before the Loft incident.

He was excellent in League Two but found wanting in League One. His performance at Wolves summed him up, anyone on this website could have defended better than he did that day.

His performance at MKDons was even worse, as he was abysmal and played on a little knock to get substituted.He looked ok until the contract was signed:rolleyes:

If Dan Jones had no pace, he'd be an abysmal player.

 

As he has got pace, he's merely a poor player. He's not got much else going for him bar the occasional decent cross.

 

Spot on..at all levels in the English leagues players hide behind having pace..even at Pl level there are players that with a drop in pace would be exposed as pretty average
