right just finished listening to the vale commentary ( well done boys bring on brighton ).

and yet again we have to listen to Blakemans poor commentary. all I heard during that game was a stoke fan going mental everytime Plymouth scored then listen to him put on an almost "depressed" voice when vale scored...most notably on the hugill goal. why does he bother? does his commentary matter? I was absolutely fuming yet again its almost like hes trying to get his own back because he cant commentate on the club he supports.

Is it a known fact then that he is a Stoke fan? My 11 year old picked up that he sounded disappointed when Vale scored to make it 1-1. Every opportunity they had he said could it be 2-1 Plymouth, could it be 3-2 Plymouth, i find his commentary like torture anyway, everytime the opposition gets the ball into the Vale half he makes it sound like they're clear through to score

You may not like him, that is something you have to decide on.

Tonight, and many times I have listened though, his commentary is fine and certainly not anti-Vale. A few corny jokes, some errors on team and player names and some downright bizarre observations on his surroundings are all part of his style - but there are far worse, and overall he is easy on the ear and not irritating in the way that some have been in the past.

I would have thought tonight was not a time to be so upset and seemingly annoyed - enjoy the moment.

To be fair I think he is a really passionate commentator towards the Vale. However I noticed that about him tonight after Vales 2nd and 3rd goals, but he only seemed to rain in his enthusiasm after he received a tweet from a vale fan, telling him he needed to calm down and not get over excited. Poor bloke can't win.

I thought that tweet was about him getting excited when they were attacking, not when we were. Any road, its a roller coaster ride when he's commentating thats for sure

I like his commentary, he and Cullerton gel well together.

As a comparison the week Radio Stoke Valiant Player didn't work and we had to listen to the Bristol City commentators, the latter were truly awful and amateurish in comparison to Blakeman and Cullerton.
