I would have popey back but I would be looking to get rid of Justin as I never really have confidence in him when put in a goal scoring position. I think Pope has more to offer as a threat in front of goal. But I do agree we need pace up front as it's what we lack massively

Don't be fooled. They are equally as bad as each other. We should not sign Pope and not renew Roberts' contract. The club is in turmoil enough without them. The new manager will be able to get other players in to fill the positions whoever it may be.

Unless we make big changes in midfield and especially the wings then tom pope is not the type of player we need, hes a target man who needs chances set up for him....we need someone with a bit of skill and the ability to create a chance for himself....like already mentioned, a player in the tony naylor mould

I think it would be foolhardy to consider Pope until the Stafford night club affair is sorted.

I dont think i want him again. He trys his best everything but hes too slow aswell.

Pope holds the ball up very well indeed. However we never had midfielders advancing past or even supporting the forwards for his style of play to be most affective.

 

I do think that he is a better footballer than justin and has a greater work ethic marc. However if he did sign then the balance of our attack play would be one dimentional.

Put in a few good shifts for us and won a lot in the air which kept it in opponents' half. However, has slipped down the ranks at a couple of League Two clubs now and could get sent down for this Stafford thing.

Even though he did a job, I don't want him because like Roberts, the drama could outweigh the positives.

Pope had one good game that I saw him in, Bradford at home. The last game I saw him in at Chesterfield he was woeful and could not even hit an empty net in the warmup. Seriously average and if found guilty for his Stafford nightclub antics will be going to jail. No ta.
