As Jacko said on another thread it may be moved to FGRs on safety grounds who should have been away at Salisbury but they're still in the cup so it seems that a few of their fans would also attend as they've not got a game. Win win, just a shame that we've already been there and been to the ground.

If this is the case it won't be on TV as these will be night games and the floodlights at their ground won't be up to it.

When is a decision made as to where the match is to be played and indeed is any decision necessary? Assume money made by clubs if televised at Shortwood's ground will far outweigh any financial reason to hold game at FGR?

 

On that basis surely Shortwood will want to play on their own ground? Not likely that there will be any trouble as only a few hundred Valiants would be able to attend.

I've asked whether the TV people have been in touch and whether they think it will be at their ground. If they do get back with anything I will let you know (although they may not know themselves yet).

I see no reason it can't be. To those who are saying it can't be played at Shortwood due to size/floodlights....have you ever been to the ground to assess the situation or are you just disrespectfully guessing that they cannot handle a few hundred Valiants?

I love the Vale official sites headline of 'Forget about Shortwood'....followed by an article all about the Shortwood game.

No reason it couldn't be played at Shortwood if they put temporary stands in place, like Arnold back in the 70s.

 

(OK I know ground rules have changed since then but so have temporary stands.)
