Hope he is going to make I back. He's not done so well recently so maybe he's for the chop. Sure some on OVF will be hoping anyway ......?!

Not done so well lately ? Where do you look at your football results - the Beano ?

Micky guided the team to a superb 3-2 win over Coventry and a mid-table placing to build on, and I wish him well and a full recovery.

I was glad to see this thread opened, as Micky deserves our good wishes and the hilarious posters who find illness and the risks of a major operation so funny may not be so amused when their turn comes.

He's done phenominally well recently to get us where he has, don't worry about people that moan all the time, its just that they are sad in their own lives and want to pass on that feeling to others.

Hurry up back Micky, your team needs you :)

What has he had done?

Very little info seems to be around, but I did read it was a hip replacement. Unfortunately something I know rather a lot about in recent times as I've chalked up 5 operations including a dislocation. If it goes well, and I hope Micky's op has, he should be home by now and will be on crutches for 6-12 weeks.

Some of the less pleasant things come after leaving hospital, like having to sleep on your back and not turn on to your side (if you do in the early weeks you will dislocate) which almost certainly means a lot of sleepless nights. Plus having to wear the anti-DVT (deep vein thrombosis) socks 24 hours a day for a few weeks.

My best wishes to Micky for a full and speedy recovery. Some people describe hip operations as 'straightforward' but they are still a major operation with some risks and difficulties.
