England manager quits

Santa's right. A Female manager in Men's football certainly at the professional level of the game would be under so much scrutiny and I don't think they'd get the respect from the players especially if results didn't go their way(if at all from some players).

I mean we all know there are blokes who have female bosses in other walks of life but I just can't see it happening in a mens frontline sport in this country. Such as Football, Rugby or Cricket.

Actually, I think she probably will get a job as heading up a youth academy or development squad at one of the more progressive London clubs (in terms of coaching infrastructures) such as Spurs or Brentford. Unless she wants to stay in the women's game at another UK team or the women's premier league.

She's an FA Pro-License coach so I doubt she'll be out of work for long.

For the record, I think it probably is time for a change in terms of the women's national team. Over the years Hope Powell has been great, but her tenure has just run its course.

Women's football is not the major professional entertainment and sport industry that men's football is. Therefore she would need to serve time in the coaching ranks in men's football to build experience and show competence in order to get an opportunity.

That doesn't apply to a lot of men who walk into fairly senior management/coaching jobs with little or no coaching experience...but they do have experience of the mens' game at senior levels I guess

Not saying that isn't what she'll end up having to do but it will be cos she's a woman!!! Shock, horror!!!

Totally agree, she has taken the womens team a long way in her tenure however the performance in the recent tournament was very tired and it looked like she had run out of ideas and she was simply choosing her favourites including some injured players instead of form players.

Good luck to her and I do hope she manages to break into the mens game in someway shape or form and is a success.
