Great result

Good performance

Decent game

Adams got the selection spot on this week. Loft and Lines worked well in the middle after a shaky start when it looked like we might get overrun through the middle. Dicko and Robo look a great partnership at the back. Very impressed with them. JMW did more tracking back in this game than the whole of last season. Yates had a great game. Pope worked hard but really should have scored. Hughes was outstanding. Deserved MOTM. You'd think he was 17 not 37 how hard he ran and didn't seem to fade at all.

Very pleased.

A good result today and we certainly looked a more positive team. The back four as a unit are strong, Dicko and Yates again for me had excellent games. Loft played well in midfield alongside lines. And Lee Hughes, this is why he should be the first name on the team sheet every week. A goal and an assist. Intelligent forward play which shows you don't always need pace. A class act who despite a lot of peoples belief that he isn't fit enough to play a full match, lasted 90 minutes and never stopped harassing the Bradford back 4.

The only slight disappointment were the wingers. Yes they often get into good positions, but their decision making is poor on the whole. After we scored the second goal, there was a period when we were really on top and had Mohammed or JMW not dilly dallied on the ball, we could have scored at least one more.

All told, a very enjoyable game of football in which Vale more than played their part.

One final mention for the officials; absolutely shocking.

Very good, hardworking performance. Great to get those 3 points, lads did us proud.

Bit mystified with the give attendance, again. Seemed more than that to me and with Bradfords excellent support it means we are scratching around to attract armchair fans who have not purchased a season ticket. Well, 2 home games in the league now have shown we are attractive and hardworking and will more than hold our own at this level. come on you missing thousands get up to Vale Park and see the improvements we are making in more ways than one!

Happy with the 3 points and the performance was decent.

In general I'd say we look decent at the back and at the sharp end we do cause problems although the balance of the midfield doesn't seem quite right to me yet. Lines has quality but sometimes drifts in and out of games which is a little worrying for a centre midfielder. It'll come with him though hopefully.

Hughes was exceptional and he makes a little more space for Pope which helps. A deserved man of the match although I thought Dickinson was exceptional at the back too.

Finally the Ref was terrible and missed a lot of shirt pulling and man handling (particularly on Pope).

So who thinks Hughes shouldnt be in the team now?

Mind you if I'd had to pick the MOM after 25 minutes Dicko would have walked it. Held the defence together brilliantly.

Thought they got away with murder with their pulling and holding. But they were always a threat. All in all the best two sided game we've had for a while. Would like to see the wingers switched so they can go for the line though.

Neal - 7

Not much to do but very competent when called upon

Yates - 8

Very solid, some great tackles and looked sharp

Robertson - 7

Again solid, a good signing imo

Dickinson - 8

He's gonna be a legend for us. Committed performance.

Jones - 7

Got forward well, nice crosses. Out of position infrequently.

Myrie - 6

Double marked, rarely made many attacking runs. Got back well, worked hard.

Lines - 7

Fantastic distribution, great set pieces, exactly what we've been crying out for.

Loft - 8

Fantastic work rate, committed, good distribution. Proving me wrong.

Mohamed - 6

Quiet first half, more involved second. Quick, good headers, worked hard. Little end product however.

Pope - 6

Unlucky not to score today, should have buried the header from Jones' cross. Goals will come.

Hughes - 9

Star man. Worked his socks off, intelligent, great finish for first, great pass for second. LEGEND.

Bradford were poor imo. Wells did nothing apart from his goal, was very quiet. Gary Jones looked decent, that's about it.

After Hughsie got kicked on lying on the floor.Phil Parkinson started giving it the large one until Pagey went across and stuck his head in his face.Great passion and shows what it means to the management as both MA and Grewey were up and sticking up for the players. No hard feelings at ft as they all shook hands and pats on the back.Great 3 points.

Fine game and a just about deserved three points. Dickinson was brilliant at the back but man of the match was Hughes who gave a lesson of how to play centre forward at this level. The midfield was much more balanced as well with Loft dropping into his natural middle of the park role.
