  1. Sang has improved, while Clark and Plant are good options at RWB. Gibbons can do a job on the left; although he doesn't answer the lack of a proper LWB who can cross with his left. If we'd signed Gibbo we'd still be overloaded with right footed wingbacks. At least Grant might be back and hopefully fit for the rest of the month. What we desperately need is someone left footed to play LWB.

  3. 100% agree. I have no idea why people keep banging on that we should have Gibbo or bring him back. He would only be injured most of the time and it would be a total waste of a wage.

  4. I can see why we wanted to get someone like Gibbo back in to the fold as we need competition on both sides of the pitch at wing back and players that could play full back if needed too. My understanding is that it was almost done but we couldn’t shift someone out of the club to make it happen. In addition I think it was either Yates or Sproson that said he was close to coming back in when they commentated on whichever away game it was just after the window shut. Now it looks like he’s in and out of the squad at Bristol it wouldn’t surprise me if we possibly went back for him. So for all our criticism of the recruitment process it does seem like we at least tried to address the wing back / full back issue, but couldn’t get it sorted. I’ve said before that if we can get decent fullbacks and wingbacks in that will give us 30+ appearances a season, who will also add some strength and depth to the squad then that’s the way we should be going because this season and last season that position has not been sorted.

  5. I know i'll get pelters her for saying this but I wouldnt want Gibbo back. Love the bones of the man BUT: a) his injuries are a problem and we've got enough players with massive injury issues. b) "IF" we want to get in to the Championship, we need to be recruiting players who can play there. I dont think Gibbo is the answer; the only we should do that is to sign him on a short term measure. Tin hat on..

  7. 11 starts and 3 sub appearances out of 20 is a bit more than half.

  9. Reading your first sentence, I was expecting you to suggest we resign him as a striker. [emoji6] Let's be honest, he would probably do better than the current encumbants.

  10. I thought that I have had today is that if we do not pick up form between now and January do you think Sheffield United & Tottenham would want their young players being demoralized & confidence dropping each week because we can't win games or even score goals? They might pull them out of that situation to give them a break from it

  11. Devine came so highly rated that i think it was a no brainier to take him. And we dont know how much we are paying for him. The problem with the recruitment was the strikers and fullbacks. To only have one left back who was injury prone has left us without a plan b. And left backs cant be that hard to find. Unforgivable oversight to not see what would happen. Though the worst crime was paying actual money for and giving a two year contract to loft. Not good enough for league 2 never mind league 1. And his name has been mentioned a number of times as though we had tracked him for a long time, and so not really a panic buy.
