Dodds, Yates and Williamson sign new contracts

Personally I think out of those left to sign loft will move on. Would it be a big loss. In my opinion, not really.

I agree. We need a centre mid to take the game by the scruff of the neck and dictate it and we need a captain, personality wise, to be in the mould of someone like Purse, a natural leader.

Yep a big loss, consistant in all positions he plays, aside from Williamson and Jones the most necessary to re-sign.

He is captain and close to Micky so hopefully he will stay. Cant believe you dont think he will be a big loss.

I don't think he'd be a big loss. Was excellent at left back but since moving to centre mid he's been average all season. If he signs great, if not then no big loss IMO.

Good news again. I've always liked Dodds n Williamson has potential to be a good striker in the lower leagues. Yates played very well in the last 10 games, and if he can keep that up may just convince me he can make the step up.

Loft wouldn't be a great loss for me either, was dreadful in several games towards the end of the season and IMO is the most overrated player by some fans

Can't understand why people think he would not be a loss. Can equally play left side or right side, full back, midfield or wide. Refreshing to have a professional footballer who can use either foot. The problem with a jack of all trades is not being a master of any. Micky needs to decide on his role and keep him there. His adaptability would require several players to replace.

I think he had his poorest season for us since we signed him

It's a wise decision I think from BW.

He's still learning and can gain a lot from Hughes and the Pope so staying here for a bit longer makes sense.

We can all see the potential he has - quick, a decent first touch, awareness, etc. If he improves his finishing and works on 1-2 other things he could become a really good player.

A sensible move and 3 more pieces of the jigsaw in place.

BW is aready a very good player, I am not dissagreein with you OS.

He will develop well here. He will have first place starts too. MA inner a fool.

i like lofty, captain, comfy on the ball. but i said at the start of last season that imho he should have concentrated on being the best left back in league 2 rather than an average midfielder.

lofty for england! 👍😃

Lofty is very comfortable on the ball and offers our squad a fantastic play anywhere attitude. We will see the very best out of him in a higher grade of football. those of you that knock him do not appreciate what he does for the whole team in covering.

Yes he did appear to have had a few "off" games last term but that was only due to him running himself ragged trying to cover for others poor positional play and their running out of steam!!

IMO he definitely was better at full back but I feel he will blossom in midfield IF Adams signs the versatile, midfield general we have all been craving for ages.

Vital cog in our squad is Lofty!

I agree that he is important to the squad, in that he is a very capable option at left-back & left-midfield, but definitely not in the vital postition of central midfield - doesn't score or create anywhere near enough and his control & first touch sees us lose possession far too often. Not up to the job of being the midfield playmaker that we need, or the defensive-midfield destroyer role, so would be far better out on the left.
