Ticketmaster - More Improvements

What the ****,£2.50 booking fee,£2.00 postage,I for one would not be happy if it was us ,£4.50 :( :( imagine paying £4.50 on top of £22 to get in Vale match days, I can see problems ahead with Ticketmaster :( :(

In that case you just walk up and pay cash on the day like now

I however think this will not be the case in respect to ticket sales at the vale

I've been through unmanned turnstiles before where there's been a steward stood in front, watching everybody go in.

I think there's a light above the turnstile that goes a certain colour if it's an adult ticket and a different colour if it's a concession.

When I went for my season ticket/ card I asked if the turnstiles would be altered to accommodate the new system. The girl in the office said there would be hand held machines/scanners.That was 2 weeks ago, maybe things have advanced since then?

As long as the turnstiles are wider I will be happy :)

That is for paper tickets, home games will be electronic, except for away fans.

We booked a Wembley Stadium tour a few years ago through Ticketmaster and the robbing *******s even charged me for the privilege of printing my own tickets, using my printer, my ink and my paper!

The reality of this system is fans could be paying £24.50+ to watch the Vale at home.

If each "unmanned" turnstile has to be policed to ensure that people don't abuse the system then what exactly is the point?

Surely an online system won't end up costing more to the consumer than turning up at the ground to either pay at the turnstile or (as is looking more and more likely for all stands) purchase from the ticket office. What would be the incentive in that? 99% of the time there isn't a need to buy in advance of the matchday at Vale Park anyway. I certainly see the benefit of online ticketing, but it simply won't get any traffic if it costs more than the walk up price.

Advanced purchases at other grounds this season have resulted in a discount in comparison to matchday prices.

Just to add, the idea of being able to "top up" my swipe card season ticket with cup entrance from behind a computer screen days in advance sounds brilliant.

I'm assuming (or more like hoping) that if you are not a season ticket holder then you'll be issued with a personalised swipe card as a ticket the first time you attend next season. Thereafter you'd have the ability to top up your card online or in the ticket office at any time for the odd matches you wish to attend, or with multi-match packages as they become available. This will make attending and paying for matches much easier and will help the club gauge what sort of crowd to expect (for pie and booze provisions) as a greater percentage of fans will inevitably buy in advance.

Infact developing the system further you could even use the card to purchase food, booze, programmes, merch etc to save on queues and messing about with change. This is my dream.

Brilliant this will help me no end I currently have to drive from wolves to burslem to get my tickets like I did a few week ago v Northampton. Pay on the gate days are ok but this will make our bigger games a whole lot easier.

They won't be charging the extra money, you will get your card and then it'll be topped up so there won't be a handling fee for this, alternatively these fee's will be absorbed into the ticket price and you therefore won't know they exist.

People need to chill a bit instead of picking every bit of news to bits and fearing the worst !

I really hope this is the case

I was thinking that with the £2 increase on matchday tickets any fee paid to ticketmaster would be absorbed into the core cost of a ticket, making it appear as a free service online.
