Typical Vale, got to go to last game now and beat Wycombe. Seriously I was not panicking as I felt our away form and the fact that Wycombe's season was over anyway meant that we would still get there. Had no fears, calm as a cucumber! We are Vale after all, what did anyone expect?

I was at the back of lorne street thinking typical Vale, then Birchall put that cross in, I had kept my cool all match but started to berate him, then I well and truly had egg on my face.

I was also thinking how premature the pre-match celebratory atmosphere had been, and how this would be the biggest egg-on-facery of all time. Burslem's pub scene would have been a very different place had we not been rescued by Sir Lee Collins!

I was thinking there was no way I could go through another week like last week of pure nervousness every time I thought about Saturday and that I couldn't possibly go to Wycombe needing a win and then...a miracle happened!!! :)

Thought I'd gone to OL.A.VF by mistake

The main thing I was just thinking why the hell do Vale always have to do it the hard way, thoughts of going to Wycombe and getting beat were going through my head and ending up in the play offs, to be honest I wasn't really taking the last 20 minutes of the game in it as there was so many thoughts going through my head, even after Collins scored I was still expected there to be a cruel twist in the story but so glad there wasn't.

 

Let's be honest though it wouldn't be Vale if we did it the straight forward way would it! They certainly know how to put us through the mill!

There was two thoughts in my head:

1. Typical Vale always forced to do it the hard way

2. I wonder if the ref now realises that he has caused this by not giving the foul on Pope which led to their 2nd goal.

 

Then the worse pass of the season ends up in the back of the net. God has intervened. 'Justice for the Vale'

I was listening to the game at home (in Farnham as I couldn't get to the game) listening upstairs on Valiant player and was thinking should I go downstairs again like I did in the first half when we scored our first goal? I though it can't possibly happen again can it? The rest is history........
