Cue the over reaction

TWIGGY

In my view, Vale always seem to do this, a couple of good results away - followed by a decent home crowd and a poor display.

Frustrating as it is, we still have 6 points from a possible 9 over Xmas, thus far. Yes, it's infuriating that our home form is letting us down, but if we were winning at home and losing away we would still have the same number of points on the board.

The only difference is that the 1000-odd fans who turned up today will probably not bother on Saturday so we are only losing out financially.

Spunko is bob on with what he says abd I'm sure if you had asked any Vale fan to seriously predict where in the league we would be come Jan 1st, I don't believe many if any would have had us down as SECOND!

A bad day at the office and strangely, when we have an 'off-day' it seems that the entire team pretty much has an 'off-day'.

My mate feared the worst when we noticed just one coach from Fleetwood. Rotherham were moaning their heads off that Vale ONLY took 1300 fans on Boxing Day, what did Fleetwood bring today?, and yet they go home happy!

I think this is the first time this season that we haven't gone a full 5 league games undefeated after a loss, so it will be interesting to see if we can get back on track. Plymouth should provide the players with a chance to really put in a performance for the home fans before the real top-of-the-table clash at Gillingham.

It's not over yet by a long way, no need for over-reaction. A good win in front of the faithful few on Saturday and we stay second at least. Keep the faith.

The top seven teams in L1 over the last five games :-

Rotherham 9 pts.

Fleetwood 9 pts.

Gillingham 8 pts.

Southend 8pts.

Bradford 8 pts.

Cheltenham 7 pts.

Port Vale 7 pts.

Stats are not a reliable guide.

That's my point was lookin for them but couldn't track them down. Clubs below us are pickin up and we are becoming most erratic

They are paying customers and hold the right to stay away if the product is poor - get over it.

All these "real" fans are forgetting one vital thing. A clubs finances are based on its HOME attendances. Home attendances will vary according to performance. Three successive 2-0 defeats - all **** poor performances - mean that Smurfs 7500 is impossible to achieve. The club cannot survive with just these wonderful real supporters it needs much much more. Today was a total and utter disaster. Hundreds of those attending today probably only came because it was New Years Day, we now wont see them again for another 12 months. For ****s sake Adams sort it out , the team selections and tactics at home are woeful and so are some of the players. I'm nearly 62 and I'm a damn site quicker over 20 yards than 4 of our centre halves, even with dodgy knees and high blood pressure.

We also must apologise to the "floating 1500" that turned up today - sorry it was not a five star performance and a 5-0, see you again when the mood takes you. I on the other hand will pay my £20 and go again, as i support the club, not turn up when they are top.

Nothing for me to get over. im simply saying, that our fanbase is hypercritcal..yet will laud it up on other messageboards saying what a "big" club we are at this level.

Plymouth will show us on Saturday what proper support is.

Just before I read this, I wrote out my thoughts on the squad.

Good enough for L1 :- Pope, Neal and Loft if he doesn't keep on getting injured. (Johnson)

Question marks over :- Burge, Dodds, Morsey, Davies, McCombe, Duffy, Yates, Williamson, Vincent, M.Williams.

To get shut of A.S.A.P. - Owen, Murphy, James, Andrews, Shucker, McDonald, Chilvers, Taylor.

Bring in 6/8 better Quality players. Not cast outs that no other club wants.

Mickeys hands were somewhat tied whilst in admin. Now is the time to establish the Vale at the top of L2 with a squad that can hold their own in L1.

SPOT ON

Not too sure on Loft. Dont believe we will ever get a dozen games together from him.

Definate no's - Davis and Yates. The rest really are Question marks.

The big test is on any new signings.

THEY HAVE TO BE LEAGUE ONE STANDARD.

Center back Left back Midfield Striker - to improve on Dodds

This is where Wildes and Smurf come in to play.

This is the chicken or the egg syndrome

Over to you two

The last three home games have been complete and utter *****. 7500 my ****.

Adams lost the plot today. He must have seen how the match was panning out and to bring MacDonald on against 2 midgets was a ****ing joke. I just cant believe how ***** MacDonald is, havent seen anyone as slow or as poor in the air for over 50 years. For ****s sake get rid.

Bob Delgardo ?

I don't think Cheltenham will maintain that position over those below. And we have a 6 point gap between the rest, plus a goal difference worth a point. A defender, centre mid and goal scorer will see us up. I pray Adams unhurried approach is a ploy. If he lets some go and doesn't replace, then why talk previously about the small squad due to restrictions?

Does anyone else think our pitch is to big for our to slow defence

My backgarden is too big for McCombe Chilvers Macdonald Owen

I have never seen such slow footballers

While were at it not only are they slow , they are very poor footballers.

At best they are stoppers when the ball is played high into the box.

Yes they throw themselves about and block efforts on goal. I expect that from all players.

People should realise that centre backs play most of their ninety minutes out of the penalty area !!!
