Hope you feel better after that!

We play well at home when its a hard surface - once the ground turns into the soggy, energy sapping, pitch it becomes in winter it is a pitch perfect for a team to come, sit back, and soak up (sorry for the pun) pressure then hit us on the break.

At the minute its the worst pitch we could have for two speedy wingers - you watch as soon as the pitch hardens up again our wingers will be flying again. Until then we have to grind out results at home and crap defending isn't helping.

In some respects Dave I admire your loyalty but are you doing like the fella on your avatar....... burying your head in the sand? . Our widemen aren't putting in a shift. They don't appear to like hard graft. I don't buy into the heavy pitch theory Fleetwood appeared to zip past our leaden footed defence well enough on it yesterday. The truth is JMW is a one footed 'one trick pony' and defenders now know all about his trick. Vincent simply doesn't pull his weight and if he was half as good as he appears to think he is he would be way above our level. Sadly he isn't and MA needs to act fast.

I love the Vale but won't accept a clear lack of effort. Fleetwood beat us without breaking sweat and they still went out and signed 3 new players yesterday. Surely that should be sending out a clear message to Mr Adams. New signings can have a two fold effect as they both help the team and also motivate the players currently playing to raise their game or expect to be dropped.

Also id make changes for saturday ,my team would look like this.

Neal

Duffy Davis Yates

James burge Morsy Loft Shuker

Myrie Williams Pope

The emphasis on keeping possession of the ball centrally and using the lightening pace of Williams off Pope.

Try that Adams !

Sorry but shaking the bag isn't the answer. New signing are!

Tenement Funster-

Just read your"rant". Excellent post imo. We now need our Manager to see what most of us have seen coming all season. If he does and gets in a few class players then we will be OK. However if he sits tight and believes the present squad will get us promotion, then we are in for a hard, tense second half campaign and probably the very best we could achieve then is a nail biting play off scenario.

I've a horrible feeling that the January transfer window is going to prove a huge disappointment for fans. With one target already out of the mix and Birchall still only at the negotiating stage, I just sense that Calvin Andrew and Liam Chilvers will be the only additions to the squad.

When M.A. tells us he doesnt need to sign new players, I hope he is trying to pull the wool over our eyes ?

Seriously hope he doesnt have the wool firmly over his own eyes.

Fleetwood did beat us with plenty to spare. They managed to play good football with movement on ' a heavy pitch '

Sick of hearing the pitch doesnt suit our players - too heavy , too big

There football was good, started from the back. Our two center backs [ whichever two we pick ] are slow and have

no football quality at all. People must realise that centre backs spend more time outside there own penalty area

and have to be capable of 1 / making a tackle on the ground against a forward making a run at them and

2 / need to be capable of passing a ball and not just hoofing it up front.

Our midfield two gave one good performance between them

Our wide men and support from the two full backs is poor at the moment - especially at home

Up front Pope is good but needs support. Louis Dodds will never be consistant enough but remains our

best option. He should always start but why Williamson has fell out of favour i dont know.

He will always look to shake things up when he comes on.

We need to strengthen. ITS A MUST.

Center back

Center midfield

Full back

Striker to push / replace L.Dodds

The key to these signings are - experienced players with the pedigree for league one -

Stop gap signings are no use to us at all. We already have too many players that will not

make the grade in league one

This is where Wildes and Smurf come in. Will they spend before the chance to recoup some money.

One minute theres no need to rush in bringing new signings in and then after one game it "might" be time to freshen the squad up.

I fail to see what the pitch and heavy conditions has got to do with it a) thought we were super fit b) the pitch has been like that since I can remember.

Fleetwoods nippy forwards coped with it OK so its down to management and the George Foster to source at least 3 new players to keep the momentum going.

Good enough for L1 :- Pope, Neal and Loft if he doesn't keep on getting injured. (Johnson)

Question marks over :- Burge, Dodds, Morsey, Davies, McCombe, Duffy, Yates, Williamson, Vincent, M.Williams.

To get shut of A.S.A.P. - Owen, Murphy, James, Andrews, Shucker, McDonald, Chilvers, Taylor.

Bring in 6/8 better Quality players. Not cast outs that no other club wants.

Mickeys hands were somewhat tied whilst in admin. Now is the time to establish the Vale at the top of L2 with a squad that can hold their own in L1.

And if they are typical of what is to come then, Smurf and Wildes, keep yer money in the bank because they have brought nothing.

Davis was worth another chance before bringing in a slow donkey - Ben was hitting a few goals before Andrews came !

The defense can carry a bad player but we have too many.

Boom made a right pigs ear yesterday - making a truly ridiculous challenge after the ref had blown for their player being offside. He then is injured because of it and is substituted - Stupid - showed a complete lack of thought or composure

Chilvers was auditioning for dancing on ice and is too slow. McDonald - Should be a big demanding defender but is also far too slow - he needs to loose some bulk and get some speed. As for Owen - what is the role he gets paid for at the club ?

Some on OVF have said it was a bad day at the office - well what a stupid comment that was - straight out of the Human Resources 'dont upset the little darlings' book.

How many bad days does it take ---- here are recent figures for performances "in the Office"

TUE 6 NOV Rochdale H 2 - 2

SAT 17 NOV York H 2 - 2

TUE 20 NOV Bristol Rovers H 4 - 0

TUE 4 DEC Bradford H 0 - 2

SAT 8 DEC Chesterfield H 0 - 2

TUE 1 JAN Fleetwood H 0 - 2

Goals for 8 Goals against 10

season ticket holders are "already spent money" on the balance sheet and the only extra revenue for this year is by extra paying customers through the turnstiles.

Now how will we get people to pay if we consistently concede 2 goals per match at home -

Oh and we have the best keeper we have had since Southall !

I wonder how failure to gain promotion will go down with the new owners, considering the excellent points difference and goals difference we are slowly surrendering. This is a very poor league this season and failure to storm into L1 from our current position will surely go down as a huge problem.

Fully agree except I would expand on McCombes folly. If he had heard the whistle he would have had time to react and avoid injury, if he didnt hear it and thought play was continuing then he was making a tackle(!) of crass stupidity proportions as it would have conceded a penalty and a possible red card.

Loft is becoming a liability of near Michael Walsh proportions. Not only does it disrupt the team when he drops out but also when he comes back. You end up having an understudy who is likely to play more matches but knows he will drop out when Loft is fit , what decent player will sign under those conditions. Plus you have the wasted matches when he slowly regains match fitness. For one so young his fitness record is appalling. Get rid.

Get rid of Loft? Are you serious?
